  1. A great event this year! The weather was hot and so was Team Wodopian and their green 260z. Mike W took home first place in modified 260/280 and....... Best in Show. Nice job Mike! Team Wodopian's 5 man crew were sporting matching pit crew 260z shirts. All members of Mike's family from far and wide. First place in stock 240's went to Zup's beautiful flat top powered 73. Big congrats Jim! Jim's 3 person crew also has matching Zup approved shirts but Zupette & Tavish did not arrive in time to qualify for full team credit. Scott M. took 1st place in the hotly contested 280 stock division with his very clean red car. I think it was his new seats that put him over the top! Amid all the activity, he managed to sell 2 cars sight unseen (not to Cliff), a creampuff 280zx and his 810 goes to the new Nissan Heritage Museum. Another win for the NWA Club was Kent who took home 2nd place with his nice 71 in 240z modified. As a side note, you know you are at a great z car experience when even a pizza ordered from Domino's gets delivered in a 350z! (no joke) To add international flavor to the event, 2 couples, one from Europe and the other from Australia were in attendance. They were all just great people. Rudy & Irena were from Belgium. Rudy has a restoration shop that specializes in early Mustangs and vintage Z's. He really knows his stuff. From Brisbane Australia we met James & Judy. James is an active rally driver and loves the z cars. Judy won'''t navigate for him because she says ... they fight too much, lol. We all had a great time with these wonderful fun people. Mike W has a project car brewing and some of his discarded 73 parts he brought up to bestow on Zup. (see below) The big news of course was the ZCCA was in attendance and announced that Zcon 2019 will be in ................... Branson, yes Branson and will feature the indoor judged car show at the convention center. Since will be in July that is great news. A great week filled with fun drives through the twisties, food, beverages and great conversation. We were all sad to see it come to an end. Mike W & his son Alex pose with Best in Show One mans trash is another mans treasure ... Zup with Rudy & Irena from Belgium Run up to Table Rock Dam side emblem on gnose 350z
  2. Looks like it was a great time, and cool that CZCC was well represented. See the way Zup sits there with flat tops at his feet? Like minions.
  3. 2 points
Case in point: My 432 type airbox was supplied as a replacement part via Nissan, in the Tsuchiya house blue. If it had been fitted on a 432 ex-factory, it would have been a particular shade of red.
  4. Hi All, Finally after eons of thinking I'll save these puppies for that L28 I am going to build, the reality is I never will so out this kit goes. For sale SK SPORTS kit consisting of 3 x Mukuni 44PHH, manifold (no linkages), bakelite spacers, no ram tubes, full rebuild gasket kit including pump diaphrams, copy of the Mukuni 40 and 44 manual. The decal that goes on the top of the manifold is missing. Manifold has been media blasted. I have bathed this in a hot enzyme bath, scrubbed them up and they come up great but would really need a full strip, media blast the bodies and replate the brackets and springs. These came off a L28 which I never heard running so I can assume that all the bits are there. I've had the jets out and can confirm that they are all there. No reason to think that they won't work. But as these are so old and I never saw them running, I can't be 100% sure that they are in working condition. Just wanted to be very clear on that point. I have 2 x 40PHH which also get sold with this kit. Happy to not include them but may have parts or spares you may need. If you are interested, PM me. You may never see another SK come up for sale and imagine the "what's that" and "where did you find that" comment at your local car show event. Image below is from a google search I did (thanks google) and the ones I have for sale. These will be going on ebay in a couple of weeks if no one is interested here. I'm in New Zealand and will be in the US later this year so could bring them with me if possible.
  5. Ill work on the fuel height. I double checked them when I got home...front carb was ~28mm and the rear two were ~30mm. Here is a pull I did today just fwiw.......F2 140/240 and 65 exhaust jets......... 6518 by blodi, on Flickr
  6. Branson ZFest 2018 is yet another of the most significant moments in my life-----memories I will keep forever. The unqualified pure "goodness" of the Z community we are all a part of is alive and most evident here. Thousands of dollars were raised in charity for impoverished children---providing food and basic hygiene items for those in need in the surrounding area. Organizers and volunteers of this annual event of 15 years tirelessly and unselfishly devote time and energy to make this one of the best weeks of the year----- such a departure from the daily myopic "me" world in which most of us exist. To those in attendance I thank you for restoring faith in human kindness toward those less fortunate than us. Poverty and need exists all around---even in the shadows of the shows and promoted attractions that fuse to make Branson glisten. To anyone contemplating attending next year or in the future ---- may I please encourage you to come---it is like nothing else and your definition of FAMILY will change forever. On a lighter note, may I dangle the lure of an inside Air Conditioned ZCON held in the heat of July!! When was the last time you did that??? Sure to be fun for all----endless Z conversations for the guys and lots of shops for those disinterested or ambivalent ladies! So please--- make plans now to join us next July for ZFest/ZCON 2019!!!
  7. That is one from a spare that I had off a parts car. Thanks for the links I will take a look. I did have to put the door back together for a car show. I robbed the window roller off another car, as it was non-existent on the one I was working on. That seems to have done the trick for now.
  8. Finally: everything is in epoxy! Took longer than I thought (I'm as bad at guessing times on this project as I am on, well, all my other projects) and got tied up with some other things the last few weeks, but hey, it feels like real progress. Mainly, I'm happy to not have to strip any nasty stuff any more! Since it's just epoxy and I really didn't want to go through the trouble of setting up the tent, I painted everything al fresco. There's a bug or two on the bottom of the hood; I can live with that. Still playing around with the gun: I thought I was was a little too fast when I did the body last month, but overcorrected and went a little too slow on the first coat on things like the back of the doors. Second coat was better. And started with filler a couple weeks back. Roof and quarter are coming into shape. The good side won't need much work at all. With everything painted, I can do the seam sealer and start filling all the things.
  9. That's about the only thing I could come up with as well. Since that bronze is softer than the steel, it will ooze out a little if the torque is high enough. Although, I'm not sure the normal expected torque is anywhere near "high enough". Nissan said it was to reduce noise. We talked about it a bunch in this thread: https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/58935-lost-rear-bearing-shim-washers/ They put it in at the beginning of 72 and took it back out the middle of 73: I still think the whole thing was a fire under some engineers butt and that was his knee-jerk bandaid. As long as the marketing guys were convinced, then it was a success.
  10. Well that took some searching, it was actually @240Ziggy that came up with the idea, I just jumped on the bandwagon, here it is,
  11. Sketchy background with several members of this forum over the years. Complaints about quality, misrepresentation, and willingness to stand behind products Dennis
  12. On a side note, I picked up some new rubber for the 370Z....
