  1. Power mower or push? As others have mentioned, you need to build the budget bigger before searching. Hopefully, you can gather extra cash faster than Zs are going up in price. Then the fun begins. Good luck! We're all dreamers and enjoy watching others chase theirs. Dennis
  2. TANGO GOOGLE "Datsun Indiana". It looks like there are plenty of choices. I wish I could get up there with a trailer myself.
  3. TANGO Like the others have said, there is no point buying a shell and hoping to make it roadworthy. You can set a max budget but remember the seller sets the price. I have expressed this to others hoping to buy one of these cars for dirt cheap expecting to turn a sows ear into a silk purse. PROBABLY WON'T HAPPEN. You will probably give up on a shell before making it roadworthy. Here is a suggestion. Do an internet search in your state and surrounding states for. DATSUN SPECIALISTS. I found mine in the back lot of a specialist in Redondo Beach CA. The guy had it on a mechanics lien. But they usually keep cars around for extra hard to find parts. I was fortunate to find a complete car and maintaining it is an ongoing and truly rewarding task. If you buy a bucket of C..P, that is probably what you will end up with. If you are looking to spend about 5K you will probably have a good platform to work with. You never really "FINISH" working on a DATSUN because there is always a way to maker more of what you want. Good luck with your search. STAY AWAY FROM $300 CARS!...........of any type.

Wow! Good fortune!!! I called Quality Auto Parts, and they have the complete 1976 CORRECT bumper for RedBird. Also, I asked them about the headlight bezel (sugar scoop) and they have that too. I forgot to ask them about the fender tho. The bumper and bezel are in perfect condition. So I then called Rex at the body shop and gave him the info. He didn't even flinch when I gave him the quoted prices. Which are $785 for the bumper, and $220. for the bezel etc. Rex asked me if he was able to pin down a fender from them, would I be OK with him ordering the 3 from Quality Parts? No problem on my score! Do it! Looks like things might be heating up for RedBird's repairs soon! I am so excited!!! Any information you all might be able to share with me, I would be very appreciative. Like things needed to complete the installation. Things not included but needed for the complete repair. Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyy............... "I'm so excited, and I just can't hide it I'm about to lose control and I think I like it I'm so excited, and I just can't hide it And I know, I know, I know, I know, I know I want you..."
  5. These cars need a lot of attention to bring them back to how they were when new. I bought a '71 with 60k miles and the car needed absolutely nothing and hopefully I will be finished with all the work by spring.
  6. No Z but maybe you like something here https://jerseyshore.craigslist.org/cto/d/mgb-mga-mg-midget-tr4-tr7-cars/6301602989.html Maybe this https://allentown.craigslist.org/cto/d/1971-opel-gt/6277382102.html

Easy to tell apart if your measuring eye isn't what it used to be.. 9 clutch plate bolt holes on the 240mm, 6 on the 225mm. No 6 bolt clutches don't fit on a 9 bolt flywheel. But any 280/2260/240 flywheel fits all the cranks. Now that special BW 5 speed in the turbo 82-83 ZX's is a different animal, clutch wise. Not sure if it's flywheel is the same either. Ok checked a bW -T5 flywheel. Same as the 240mm flywheel, 9 bolts. Clutch disk has the same splines on the input shaft as the Nissan trans. Rock auto shows clutch kit is Exedy 06030 for the 2+2 Nissan trans, and 06032 for the turbo BW T5 trans. Must be something different about the clutch then
  8. Send DAVE, (zsondabrain) a message about this issue. He is an electrical guru when it comes to our cars and a good source of info. Good Luck.
  9. Sent from my XT1585 using Classic Zcar Club mobile
  10. I know all you guys have your project cars already and aren't likley to dump them to buy this one, I just wanted to give you-all the chance to have a shot first. Maybe you know someone, maybe there is a lurker just waiting for a car to pop up. I'll advertise it to the local Datsun heads here next by word of mouth and see what happens. Then maybe BAT.
