Got the heater box and hoses installed yesterday. Got the dash installed today after the third try. First try didn't work because the steering column was installed. Had to undo the bolts before dash would go in. after second install, noticed the defroster ducts were not installed, so took the dash out again. Third times a charm, got the dash in. Also got the vent ducts installed and the drain ducts installed. What a pain. Hate working on my back like that. the seat adjustment lever dis into your back when installing that stuff. Anyway, started connecting some of the electrical harnesses. That is a small mess and will take some time to sort out. Here are the latest pics
  2. I don't care what people think of my replies. Most folks know I live for the fun of it. 8^) No regrets.
  3. I just got a cheap one from ebay & it works great for tuning (plus all of my friends have no clue what it is & think it makes the car go faster). I did end up re-tapping the balance tube to allow for this to mount on. http://www.ebay.com/itm/30-0-HG-PRM-Vacuum-Gauge-2-5-Inch-Stainless-Steel-Case-Brass-1-4-NPT-Back-NIB-/251636710308?hash=item3a96b77ba4
  4. No problem, just remember, you'll have 10% or more ebay fees plus 3% paypal fees on top of your sales + shipping price. My offer still stands if you change your mind. Your other option is to fully rebuild them & sell them for around $650-$800 depending on how nice they look. Here's what I turn cores into... http://jarvas240z.blogspot.com/2015/10/240z-round-top-carburetor-kit-for-sale.html
  5. I'm glad you didn't see mine when I got it! I thought the original color was copper instead of green!
  6. Appreciate everyone's thoughts. It's difficult to look at a car from across the country unless you want to take on the expense to do so. This car has a history that seems to make sense, but as Lootha above pointed out, it may indeed be a black pearl, but without more documentation.. That's a hard sell. Yes, siteunseen apparently was a planned project for her son, who has since gotten married and is buying a house... Needs cash. Car is at her place, so she's helping him sell it. Prior to that it has a bit of tragic history... A couple bought the car for their son, who was later tragically killed in an auto accident. The car sat for 9 years in a garage, as the parents couldn't bear to sell the car. Id like to do some more digging.. However Im not convinced I need to get on a plane yet. This may be more of a project than I want, as someone wisely said above! Appreciate u! K The lil z lady
  7. Zed Head those full face vaporizers you like are the reason. I jimmy rigged a scuba mask.
  8. 432 fuel filler pipe and cap was exactly the same as that on contemporary build L-gata engined models.
  9. Kats, I was watching a yahoo auction and a new 432 gas cap sold for about 500 usd. Is there a chain on yours? That sure would ruin my day if I left my 500$ gas cap at the gas station accidentally. I think i remember something about the 432 filler pipe being bigger diameter and the tank is different. The cap does look to be a bigger diameter than a regular 240z.
  10. Sorry, I can't remember. You can call Dave at Arizona Zcars to check what the softest Tokico springs he has......that's what I ordered. You don't have to have a bone jarring ride to get good handling. Also, the addition of a Futofab rear sway bar did as much for my set up as the addition of coil overs IMO. Suspension set ups are trial and error.....you're going to live with your set up for a long time.....go ahead and get some softer springs......then you can "enjoy the ride"!
  11. Kats, They did not trust a fan clutch or only 4 bolts @ 9000 rpm. Have you used a more accurate way of testing water temp? Perhaps its running at normal temp and that gauge needs to be recalibrated? The datsun makers group (3d printer group) made some wheel caps for a us mag wheel. If you want something to fit and have a "Z" logo you might ask those guys to make something custom.
