  1. Eerie coincidence? We went to a bar Saturday night to see a friend's band. At one point the guitarist said for some unknown reason he felt like playing some David Bowie. He then did a great version of Ziggy Stardust. R.I.P. David Bowie. Your music lives on.
  2. He went out in style with a new album and video released last Friday - must have known the end was very near and had been "sitting on it" waiting for the right time. Video has him in a hospital bed and lyrics mention "look up here, I'm in heaven". Way to go! Dennis
  3. Great talent as you've said. The first time I heard Let's Dance, I heard Stevie Ray Vaughn and was blown away. R.I.P David Bowie R.I.P SRV
  4. Great suggestion, just added it and several others from my collection.
  5. 1 point
It was a good game. My wife and I are Clemson alumni and our oldest daughter is a freshman at Bama. It was a good game and Bama is a formidable team. The onside kick was the deal breaker but Clemson made little mistakes all night that you can't do against a team of Bama's caliber, sealing the edges, big plays and big kick return. Overall I was glad they represented well and congrats to a very good football team...
  6. Many thanks to Zup for the valance panel. Now the 71 gets it's smile back!
  7. I’m so deeply sadden to hear that David Bowie died of cancer yesterday. I just want to express my emotions. He is truly a great talented musician. I still remember when I was a kid in mid 70s the first time listening to his album “Young Americans”.I named my 1972 Datsun 240Z “Ziggy” based on his song “Ziggy Stardust” because when I bought the Z it had one original Koito headlamp and the other was another brand. The lights were two different colour and it reminded me of David Bowie’s distinctive eye colour.R.I.P. David Bowie
  8. So, I am guessing that a new clean engine with clean valves would have almost sealed cylinders? And as time goes on, carbon, etc.. buildup will cause those valves to not seal completely plus any wear on piston rings would also have effect also.
  9. The process I used to create this master vac hose section is something I learned from Kats. Kats used braided fuel hose which is the exact correct size, but much softer than rubber vacuum tubing, and brass rod to give the hose perminent shape. I used 11/32" ID brake vacuum hose from NAPA AUTO PARTS which is an exact match in size and texture to the Nissan hose, and 1/4" copper refrigerant tubing from Home Depot. Using a length of the copper tubing, I shaped it first and then slid the rubber hose over the tubing. A little sil-glyde on the tubing made the process fairly smooth but guard against using excessive pressure that might kink the copper tubing. Before inserting the copper tubing, you must cut enough off of each end of the copper tubing, one to one and a half inches, to allow room for the master vac, check valve, or engine mounting fitting in the rubber tubing. I, also, leave an extra 1/2" or so on the rubber tubing that can later be trimmed for a perfect fit. I plan to make a compete set of these master vac hoses and will take all the measurments for those who might want to try this for there own project. I'll try to attach the reference to Kats posting. http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/23900-datsun-240z-vs-fairlady-z432/page-8 Look at post #154 on this page. Let me know if there are any questions as to how I made this hose. And, yes, the copper tubing remains in the vacuum hose to maintain the shape. Dan
