  1. Last pic: Yes you can use your pulley with the A/C pulley removed. Cheers, Mike
  2. I had one just like #3 when I lived in Northern Wisconsin. Haven't seen another since I moved to the southern California desert about 40 years ago. Dennis
  3. Now I know who was in my driveway the other day taking pictures.
  4. Arrange the shift forks(1/2,3/4,5/R) in their neutral position, with the striking lever and rod installed in the rear tail housing, lower the whole assembly onto the tranny with the striking lever moved off to the far right so it can clear the shift forks as you lower it. When there is about 1/2" between the aluminum tail housing face and the center steel adapter plate face move the striking guide (the hub that the shifter ball sits in) to the right so the striking lever can slide in between the shift forks, then lower the tail housing the rest of the way to mate up with the center adapter plate. Practice this a few times before putting any sealant on the faces. It's a tricky maneuver but after putting it on and taking it off several times you'll get the feel of it. Chris
  5. i understand about "cheating" the geometry to the back of the wipe pad (towards the pivot end) but these heads were both set up with the cam lobes running right off the back of the wipe pad and hitting the rocker arm itself. what you're seeing that appears to be a thin strip of un-wiped pad area is actually a small bevel at the end of the wipe pad where that sharp corner was worn off by the cam lobe going over it. this fooled me at first until i looked really closely under good light - hard to photograph it. i'm expecting my re-surfaced rockers to come back from delta cams any day now, then i'll re-measure required lash pad thickness, order a new set of lash pads and hopefully be back on the road soon. the z has been sitting headless for way too long...
  6. Either one will work fine. As far as Hypoid gear lubrication they are identical. Buy the one that's cheaper....
  7. That is how Eiji does all his motors. He tells me that it is his tribute to the BRE racing colors for DATSUN. red/white/blue I am debating on if I will leave it on or put on my polished valve cover.
