Curious... What's the proper definition here of a "survivor" Z?

I didn't even know there was an official category at the car shows.  I just use the word for any car that looks like it hasn't been modified, crashed, or rusted to bits.

That is as good as any it seem - LOL    There are  Survivors at $50,000.00 to  $310,000.00 then there are survivors at $20,000.00 today.

I think of a survivor as one that's not been wrecked that has original paint, glass and interior. Rebuilt original motor passes too. That's just maintenance like tires and oil changes. My opinion only. LOL

A slightly modded 73 240Z with a California Datsun engine.  Wonder what kind of parts it has inside.  It sounds decent.

A replacement L28 2.8-liter inline-six was reportedly sourced from California Datsun and installed in 2016.

260Z did not make the reserve.  $24,750.  Seller disappointed.

He shouldn't be, he was offered the going rate. https://bringatrailer.com/datsun/260z/?q=260z

It does look like the engine number was ground down and re-stamped:
