July 18, 20213 yr comment_625286 Poor seller! The listing started out so promising for a 40-50k payout... now he's getting kicked in the balls! July 18, 20213 yr Author comment_625288 If you search his name you'll find that he should know these things. He's supposed to be a car "aficionado". He has a business selling classic cars. Not really a "poor seller". http://georgelyonsbuyscars.com/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/georgelyonseriepa/ https://leakecar.com/cruising-with-car-aficionado-george-lyons/ https://www.goerie.com/article/20150126/NEWS/610095671   Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/64671-zs-on-bat-and-other-places-collection/?&page=72#findComment-625288 Share on other sites

July 18, 20213 yr Author comment_625304 The guy might not realize that the pad has been messed with. His response to the comments on BAT will tell something. Somebody in CA did something before he bought it. Might still be a fine 240Z, just not "numbers-matching". Fyi, Here's my 1973 numbers plate from a couple of different angles. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/64671-zs-on-bat-and-other-places-collection/?&page=72#findComment-625312 Share on other sites
July 18, 20213 yr comment_625314 Could the L24 have been stamped at a different time and place other than where the second block of numbers, were stamped when the finished motor was being installed, they might have had a different set of numbers. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/64671-zs-on-bat-and-other-places-collection/?&page=72#findComment-625314 Share on other sites
July 18, 20213 yr Author comment_625316 This is the number in question. It's not the numbers as much as the obvious grinding marks.  Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/64671-zs-on-bat-and-other-places-collection/?&page=72#findComment-625316 Share on other sites
July 18, 20213 yr comment_625317  I see what your saying, also the numbers are not lined up, straight across the bottom like an original is. I'm sure datsun workers would have used a stamp set that held all the numbers at once and was struck once to get a clean look. You're probably right, looks like a nice Z other than the doctored block numbers and 9-10 yrs ago almost no one would have cared.
