grannyknot Posted February 22, 2020 Share #289 Posted February 22, 2020 It will be interesting to see if the body moves or releases when you unbolt the jig.

Very! In theory everything should be unloaded so that there is nothing to release but ... I've been pretty careful to try to minimize any tension/compression in the metal while welding the rails and the rockers...but there has been a lot of heat and thermal stress. A key piece of work will be to inspect all the spot welds (to make sure none popped) when it is on the rotisserie. Then seam weld everything (Maybe back on the jig) Edited February 23, 2020 by ConVerTT

That's the test I go by when I have done major surgery on a car, do the doors still close nicely, panel gaps. I did all my seam stitch welding with the car on the rotisserie with no problems, but I did jump around every 5-6 stitches to a different area while that one cooled off.

ConVerTT Posted March 1, 2020 Author Share #299 Posted March 1, 2020 (edited) Haha - no. It's the US Car Tool DIY kit - it has all the hardware, just buy, cut, weld your HSS. I bought it on kijiji 5 -6 years ago from a lady who divorced a guy with an unfinished 280z project (true story ??). http://store.uscartool.com/car-rotisserie-kit.html Edited March 1, 2020 by ConVerTT
