Can someone help me understand the difference between these two different carb spacers.

What goes in/through the extra two holes in the spacer on the right.

Yeah, look at your carbs rear side to see which you need.  I've always thought the pre '72 does not have the coolant passages?

That is correct.

Thanks for all your help, looks like I need the spacer with the six holes.

There are none with six holes.  Your choices are five or seven.

It's a calling....

Nice catch Captain, I stand corrected I need the "seven" hole spacer.

Make sure your manifold has the holes as well. And make sure the spacer goes on the right way. One hole is for water into the carb, the other for water leaving. If only I knew which was witch...

Reminds me about a question from a (very untechnical) director from the firm i ones worked for...  i showed him a set of ratchet ring spanners.. he askt me if that black inner ring was plastic.....  (Pfffff.....)   I told him YES,  and... i have another set of these because these are for undo-ing a nut.. the other set i need to put them back on!     (what an %$#^%$)
