With all the plastic on cars today, I would think a good body shop would know how to make it work. I had a plastic bumper on my wife's car repaired and painted about 7 years ago and haven't had any issues.

The difference is modern bumpers are TPO (Thermoplastic Polyolefin) and a urethane bumper is different. I routinely plastic weld TPO bumpers for my cars I repair but Urethane bumpers can't be plastic welded. At least not in the traditional meaning. TPO is also stiff and takes paint better because it's more solid and less rubber like than urethane. Some TPO bumpers for 240z's would be very interesting

I was going to post in another thread but didn't want to thread jack, I'm hopeful to make it to Zcon in your area next year and check out your cars

I reworked the headlights

I used the H4 housing from Toyota and some LED's from Amazon

@SteveJ I still have a high beam indicator issue. The blue indicator is on on low beam and sort of off on high beam. It glows very faintly but I am wondering if that is bleed over from the green LED's in the rest of the guage? Can I simply repin the front plugs to make the high beam on high beam?

Also, what fastener goes in the hinges for the plastic tool covers? A yellow zinc screw? Not a bolt...

Good question. Pull the parking light fuse and see if things change.

Yes, with the parking lights dead, I still have the back feed

Straightened up the bracket and blasted it. Blasted the bottom ceramic with the prongs and polished the chrome rim

I also bought a 123 ignition this week. We installed it today. The car runs again but cylinders 1&2 are still dead. The header pipes don't get hot. The other four are 180 - 200F pretty quick.

We double checked ignition wires. Replaced the ones on 1&2. Checked all 6 with a timing light. Verified spark on the plug visually but no joy. The only thin I can figure at this point is a fuel issue.

We have air, compression and spark. So it seems it has to be a fuel issue.

I will remove the front carb and make sure all the passageways are clear. I don't know what else to do...

A little nerve racking to bend the plastic hinges to mount them

I pulled the front carb today and carefully took it apart. I never found a smoking gun blockage. Although the banjo filters might be letting pieces through.

We put it back on the car and started it. The 1&2 cylinders were still dead. I used starting fluid and goosed it and 1&2 heated up. So it is a fueling issue. After messing with it some it appears to be running on all six again. Very strange and no real known cause which is disconcerting... oh well.

Also, one of these is not like the other..

So the drivers side strut will have to come down enough to rework the insulator. I have another one but they appear to be available new now. Which is a nice option

I have a pair off my 280 but I’m not sure that will work. Let me know if it’s feasible and I’ll send them your way.

When I finally read this I was immediately - NO - what are they thinking?? Didn't they learn from the last Zcon they held in Phoenix - IN THE HEAT OF SUMMER??

So I had to go to the website. Thankfully they did learn a bit. September 21-26. That's a little smarter. Most people don't realize this but the heat holds on a bit longer than you'd expect generally. It takes a major climate event (RAIN) to break the back of the heat. Water - it's so underrated. So even at the end of September it can be warm here - but it's usually not in the above 100's - only the (above) 90's... You'll still be using A/C in the car. Beautiful weather doesn't normally happen until October and November. Right now is perfect for an Idaho raised boy and most Arizonans are cold and in jackets or sweats if they're not in the sun. Mexicans are in Parkas...

When you get to Phoenix hit me up. I may be in Snowflake but I'll head down to the valley for the event.

Chuck (rarely Charles, Never Charlie...)
