I happened to get my hands to original KM/H gauge from 71 240z. I wonder how pain in the arse project it is to change the gauge? I'd love to make my Z as Euro as possible (also its easier to drive correct speed here with km/h gauge on) Do you have to calibrate it somehow or what?

Hey guys newbie here. I purchased a 73 240Z that came with round top carbs and a n46 intake already on engine. I have a n33 intake manifold I want to put on, but how would I go about getting it to work properly with all the emissions equipment? I have heasrd this and the n36 flow better so I'm polishing my n33 to put on for a litttle more go. Any help is greatly appreciated. This is my first Z and I'm in love with it.

I have a 71 240Z. I was going to put a f54 block, e31 head, close ratio 5 speed, lightened flywheel, aluminum driveshaft, 200sxt diff. with 4.11 gears. SU carbs. It's just for street. Would 3.90 or 3.70 gears be better? Or a different head? Any info or help? thank you very much.

Hello everyone! I'm wanting to bring my Z up to a whole new level of power with a chevy V8 and a 6-speed transmission. First of if you guys have any suggestions for what the best setup would be parts-wise I would be very thankful. I've sort of been browsing around Z car parts websites for a while now and I've seen these small block V8 conversion kits that are supposed to contain everything to mount the engine so that it doesn't mess up your weight distribution too badly. THAT is what makes me think this is possible. Now here comes my real question, don't laugh I'm being serious:) Would a 6.0L LS2 corvette engine and a TR6060 6-speed transmission fit in a 1978 280z with li…

Amigos, I've got a line a set of front and rear bumpers from a '71 240Z (to retrofit on my '78 280Z) and the gent also offered to sell me the steering wheel. I'm very, very excited about this. I'm going to head out there on Sunday, but it is about an hour away from where I live, so I wanted to make sure I am bringing the right tools. The front bumper has been removed already, but I will need to pull the steering wheel (already did the research on that) and the rear bumper. Here's my planned tool kit for the bumper removal: Metric socket set up to about 20mm with a breaker bar Adjustable wrenches and channel locks PB Blaster Propane torch An assortment of hammers (which I…

What are some common engine swaps for 280Z's (1977) I have always seen people take the motors out of 240's and put them in first gen S30 cars but I have always wondered how much moding it would take to put one under the hood. Im pretty new to 280Z's so any info will be helpful

Hey all. I put a 280z 5 speed into my 73 240z. Works and shifts fine. My problem is that when I put the plastic console on, the shift lever contacts the plastic of the console (front edge where meets base of leather shift boot). On the forward gears, and pushes the transmission out of those particular gears unless I keep my hand holding it in gear. I have read other posts regarding the earlier 240's and having to cut the transmission tunnel, which doesn't apply to me. I haven't seen anything regarding this particular issue and I'm not sure why I'm the only one having this problem. Right now I'm using the stock 5 speed shift lever with the console off, but was wondering…
