  1. Where was this show you went to? I remember it rained pretty good last weekend. 21-22nd

1980 4x4 were all 4.375 R180 1981-82 longbed 4x4 was R180 4.625 (very rare) while the kingcab and standard cab remained 4.375 All 4x4 Nissan trucks 1983-86 were 4.11 ratios. I believe 3.9 was the rear axel ratio of the 2wd from 1983-86 The 200sx non-turbo from 1984-85 (or so) was R180 4.11 as you probably know
  3. I saw the 1986 movie in the theatre twice! I was 8 years old back then... wow I liked the new one as well. A 350Z would have been nice but for some reason the transformers only like to be GMC vehicles now! I have the orginal Prowl 280ZX toy. It is die cast metal. My ex got it for me back in 2001. I think it cost about $100 on eBay back then. Ever since the re-issue of a few of the classic Transformers I've seen the values of thsoe particular toys drop on eBay. If the toys in the store have the orginal box they can be worth a lot. Be sure they are not just a used re-issue though.

Maybe a new 350Z... but even then, I want to keep my old Z's when I get one. how can I ever get rid of a Z I've owned for over 10 years. I've lived a third of my life with this car
  7. nice car! are those wheels 15x7 or 15x8?

got my first Z in 1996 when I was 18. 1982 280ZX 2+2 I still have it today and it has been my daily driver for most of those 10 years. It has changed quite a bit including a turbo engine swap. I've owned a few other Z's through the years as well.

upload your pic as a JPG and the thumbnail should show up. I found the yellow one at a local Fred Meyer a couple months ago. I bought all of them... 7 I only opened one to give to my daughter to play with... and I drive it on ocasion too. I've never seen any since then or seen any other colors other than the Yellow with stripes that I have.

Welcome to the forum. I also noticed there was no 1983 listing for the 280ZX on this forum. It only goes to '82. that's strange. Looks like a fun project. I like my turbo 280ZX
  11. well, I have the same grill on my Fairlady. I just wanted some pics of a nice clean one. ...now that I look at the pic again, I'm not sure what I was thinking.. oh well
  12. I went and my pics are up from the show. http://www.bleachgarage.com/events.html
  13. Performance Nissan in Everette WA has a 'brand new' 1996 300ZX for sale for $98,000 ... but they've said their intent is not to really sell it. It is a show piece for the floor

That was the 1984-85 200SX turbo that had the 4.11 R200 open diff. The non-turbo had a 4.11 R180. The Z20/Z22 series engines are common in the trucks. Not all that great. The CA18de/and turbo and CA20De engines are pretty good little guys. I saw a CA18DE swap in a 510 recently. But I think those engines were 1984+

Yes, there are many people who like the ZX... specifically the 280ZX. They just aren't on this forum. Some even like the 280ZX better than the earlier S30 series... big surprise! I heard that someone actually likes the Z31 too. I know it sounds rediculous but its true.

When I was 17 a person had to be 18 to own a vehicle. (name on title)
  17. $60,000 in restoration and custom engine swap? That guy's mechanic ripped him off!

Back in 1996. Just got my license at age 17. Bought a 1985 Isuzu truck. My dad did some carb work to it and welded up the rear bumper which was hanging on by a bunjee cord on one side. I threw a sound system in it and drove it for a year or so with no maintenance needed. (and no oil changes either!) Bought it for $300 from a friend. Sold it for $1100 and put that money down on a $1400 1982 280ZX which I still own to this day. (8.5 yr) Been addicted to Z's ever since.

175/80/14 is the sidewall you want. I think any other Z-car 14" wheel will look good on there and fit the style of the old car. The 6-star 280ZX 14" wheels are my favorite. They are narrow so 195 tires fit well. 195/70-14 would be the correct size if you replace the tires. The hubcaps with the D center are just the early ones. Early 1970 only I believe. After that the 240Z got the Z in the center. Those are still "correct" Z-car hubcaps; they are just more common than the D center.
  22. I have an early 1970 Fairlady Z with an awsome inner fender on the driver's side. Its in Washington state. umm... how about $6000? :bandit:

It matches the overall outside diameter. (close enough) The wider the tread, the less percentage the sidewall is. These are suggestions to keep your speedometer accurate. 175-80-14 195-70-14 205-65-14
  24. Bleach posted a post in a topic in Wheels & Brakes
175 SR 14 is basically 175/80/14 that matches the stock size of 195/70/14 as well. If you want to run 205 width, then 205/65/14 is the correct sidewall height.
