Alex 240Z

In Florida there are plenty of pick up and suv drivers who just love tail gate or just take advantage of some one with a sports car almost every time I take out my Z there is just one dummy trying either to get me to race or just trying to cut me off or just bust my chops I guess it the heat down here or the Florida mentality!!!!! Maybe I just over protective of my Z but I also know what it is like to be in an accident with one I have had my share, in my younger days I could take the blame for a few but as I got older I got wiser and a lot more careful!!!!!!!

Today will driving on I-95 I check in my rear view mirror I see a 350Z flying up to rear of my 86 Nissan 4+4 Pick up I am doing about 70 in fifth gear. I can see him flashing his lights and his freaking mounth moving to my right the is another dummy who would let met get out of 350Z's way!!!!! I am pissed try to down shift on speedy Z but I am so mad at the dummy on the right and 350Z I am grinding away !!!!! Finally 350Z gets around me and I drive off with my tail between my legs !!! If I had my 240 I would have blown wise guy 350 off the road !!!!! I hope these young dumb yuppies learn the true history of their predessor !!!!!! Had to let some steam off !!!!!!

I would be very interested in a copy of that if you do not mind and there is no rush. I have a 72 240Z and am thinking of repainting it to the original color. Does the vin # of the car also let you know the original color? The sticker on the front of the engine is illegable ,so I am not sure the original color but I do believe it to be white. You have a pair of great lookin cars !!!!! You should be very proud of them !!!! One question what type of rims do you have on the 71 240Z ???? I have the same ones on my 72 !!! Style #1 They look the best to me but as for which is better for racing I could not advise you and as for sponsorship I can hardly afford mine !!!!! If I hit the lotto I will keep you in mind !!!!!!!!!!

Wish I lived in Oregon !!!!! I have seen a lot of nice 240Z's for sale there too!!!! Florida is not the place for Z cars !!!!! Between heat heat and more heat and then the rain and dampness maybe I will move to California or Oregon better home for my Z !!!!!!! Definitely is one beautiful engine !!!!!!!!!

You Got It The 40+ crowd are buying the new T-Birds . The PT Cruisers they could not build them fast enough the first two years!!! They even metioned Mikes name and put the club name and the internet address in!!! Could be getting a few new members !!!!! Mike how come you did not let us know about the possible article and I will be looking foward to seeing it hopefully in the Winter issue

So You are saying there are two bolt holes per side? Plus it seems that these sides are curved not L shaped .:stupid:

Maybe this picture will show the two holes I am talking about on each side of the front bumper over-rider. Promise this will be the last time I will bring up this topic !!!!! Thanks for the help in advance !!!!!

Hate to be a pain in the butt !!! I just need some closure. The front bumper over -rider measures approx 30 inches c to c but there are two mounting holes on each side of the over-rider. Has any one seen that type I am sure now that it is for a 73 240Z and maybe early 74 260z

2Many and V8 I have come to the decision: My bumpers are in very good shape and I do like the way the car looks without them so why would I drill holes in perfectly good bumpers to put these things on!!!! To bad I had to buy them before I decided not to use them.. :stupid: :stupid:

Thanks for the quick response 2ManyZs Just one more thing the front bumper over-rider attaches to the bumper guards themselves. So both the front and rear bumpers need holes to be drilled in them. How do you feel about the look of the bumper over-rider and do they really protect the car? Thanks for the info in advance !!!

Are bumpers for 1972 and 1973 240Z exactly the same? The reason why I am asking would a bumper over-rider kit from a 73 240Z fit on a 72 240Z? That is a kit for front and rear bumpers.
