DAF Carbureator
My 1970 Factory Manual alludes to that type of carburetor of L20 & L24 engines. It appears to be a two barrel downdraft carb, but I haven't a clue as to where they were actually distributed.

Flip-type safety switches & paddle switches
Since I still am working in the aircraft industry. The official term from my Allied catalog is toggle switch with switchguard. They are used extensively in aircraft cockpits to cause that little bit of extra thought before throwing a critical switch.:beard:

air cleaner
Couple of them were on E-Bay this morning.

Do i want a Roadster??
I've owned a '65 SPL1600 and 2 SRL2000's. They are fun cars, and the 2000's run like scalded apes. After I put a roll bar in the last one I owned, it took corners like a go cart.

Carbs not liking me
Page 10-C-3 of the Zcar microfiche has the detail of the hoses you need. If you're going to be doing a lot of your own work, I highly recommend the CD. The exploded drawings are worth the price alone. :classic:

Did the 71 240 have rear sway bar?
Looking at the information on the fiche, I would say the rear suspension was revised /updated in 7/73. That was probably the time they finally added the rear swaybar.

Top Gear 350Z video.... um.. ouch

Check Eastwood.com. Items 13103 and 13105. Both of those are combined in item 13107. They are Wheel Smoothing and Buffing Kits. Autosoll is item 13170 for 3.52 oz. tube or 13175 for a 2.2 lb. can. eastwood

dip or media blast?
It's good, but tricky to lay down right. Eastwood has what they call Rust Encapsulator. www.eastwood.com

Very rare 240Z emblem
Kats, How difficult is it to obtain the lock shown on the last photo? I have seen very few on the U.S. sold S-30's. It may have been a dealer swapped option, but I remember having seen them on the Z's I saw in Okinawa early on.

Brake Booster Interchange
It appears the late 240 7 1/2 inch version and the ones used on the 2 seater 260 and 280's should be interchangeable. I can give you the part numbers for those if needed. You might check with Chloe at Midwest Z. Check the sponsor's link.

Brake Booster Interchange
I assume by brake booster you mean the Master Vacuum Assembly. If that is the case, up till 6/72, part # 47210-E8700, a 6 inch assembly was used. After that, it was a 7 1/2 inch unit, P/N 47210-N3000. Hope this helps.

Stock Tires
I bought Bridgestone radials in 1969 to go on my Fairlady roadster in Okinawa. The original Z had Toyo radials, The tire info plate on the inside of my 1970 240Z's glovebox designates 175SR14 or 175HR14 tires and also 6.45H14. I think the last was the old non-metric designator.

Fuse Gremlins!
When I was having similar problems, we found a: One of the side markers was corroded so it was shorting the whole circuit out. b: The left rear side marker retaing screw was penetrating the wire and shorting the whole circuit out. A lot of troubleshooting with the volt ohmmeter and luck.

Fuse Gremlins!
I show part # 25160-E8800 for models produced from 0971 to 0672. After that date, try 25160-N3300. Hope this helps, thanks to the Z Microfiche CD.

I've got relatives living down in Los Lunas and am familiar with the area you're living in. My younger sister used to live a bit south of you.

Pedal date Bingo
I don't know if this is the norm, but on my '70 240Z, the brake pedal arm seems to be of a fairly heavy cast material and the clutch pedal arm is of a lighter pressed form of metal.
