no prob anyway, it should be a 240sx. as far as it being an automatic: if you wanted to swap in a better motor (SR20DET) then just swap out the tranny at the same time. it's not TERRIBLY difficult, but i recommend having somebody around that knows what they're doing. before you do any repairs on the battery, you might want to look into the cost of the silvia front end conversion. it's a pretty popular swap, and since you already have damage it wouldn't be a waste

are you talking about a 1991 240SX? if so, they are decent cars. first off, they have back seats. second, they have a 2.4L KA24DE truck motor (mildly torquey, but not a performance motor) that is a 4-cyl. the datsun 240z had a 2.4L inline six. other than the fact that they are both 2.4L RWD, there's not much that they have in common. the 240sx platform is a popular base for a SR20DET (turbo 2.0L, stock 180SX/silvia motor) or a ca18DET (turbo 1.8L). it's more a passenger car, less a sports car. check out http://www.240sx.org/ for more info
  11. unfortunately, i'm working both friday and sunday, and cruising up to orange just for saturday isn't that practical for me. i'm gonna have to wait for next year.. it's too bad the issues with jello and DK
  12. looks similar to mine (if my rims were black...) they look good!
  13. i'm looking at this colour with a gold pearl:
  14. kinda, a little more like this: but yellow and black
  15. thanks guys! i'm looking at maybe a a wee bit darker. i'll try my best to emulate it, but i'm not that proficient at photoshop. thanks ron, i'm going to post an updated picture as soon as i get to adjusting it. california uber alles!
  16. i've been tossing around a few ideas on what colo(u)r to paint my car. originally, i was going to go with the original yellow with the black "240z" stripe on the side. then, as i got a bit more adventurous, i decided to toss around a few ideas. though my fave colour is yellow, i've always liked the way green looks on cars. as a matter of fact, all of the non-z cars i have owned have been green! anyway, here is my result: it's going to be a little bit darker of green, probably BRG, but with a gold pearl. i'm also debating if the BRE stripes should be vinyl (to remove them if i get sick of them) or painted under the clear coat (so it looks nice). anyway, i'm ready for input!
  17. buy it, swap motors, sell it....
  18. ^^the l28 puts out more than ample power.... also, the L28ET (turbo) is an awesome swap..
  19. ^^very interesting read..... wonder if it could be true?
  20. "The year 1979 saw the first design studio to open outside of Japan in San Diego, California, producing concept vehicles and the 1986 Terrano" does this place still exist? i may have to make a visit...
  21. ^^ i understand both sides of the fence. sometimes you don't know the correct terminology yo properly search, and sometimes when you DO search it comes up with 47 pages (most of which don't even have to do with the subject at hand) however, i do agree that the search function is very handy, and i have made good use of it.
  22. ^^he's saying you're the guy that got caught whackin' it
  23. very interesting.... killer disc brakes!
