  1. Looks good Jim at viczcar we are trying to put together another video of a run we had earlier in the year. IN the video you can hear all the Z's but you can tell my Z has a distinctively different note .
  2. Haha now Mickie don't be too harsh. Australians have made some very good cars, however I've always felt the Japanese cars have been technologicially more advanced. For instance the Red Motor found in the old VB VC commodores and the early Torana's was a 3.3ltr motor pushrod . in XU1 GTR form with the 3 strombergs it made 160HP. Now compare that to the 2.4ltr 240z with twin Su's and 150HP. Hmmmm 1 extra carb and 3.3ltr vs 2.4 and only 10HP? Yes i think the Japanese had the L motor sorted . For it's day the Z was unreal and far ahead of most Australian cars. These days though you gotta hand it to FORD and HOLDEN they have produced some very exceptional cars here. Take the Monaro which has been exported for the US market that's quite an achievement if you ask me.
  3. Thanks you've been very helpfull in some of my recent posts . I think i'll be able to find that font without paying for it.
  4. You got the Aussie version of rice correct.
  5. Rick not sure if you know about ozdat.com? You could try placing a wanted ad there for the air cleaner.
  6. Rick sounds like you have spyware on your computer mate. I recommend installing AdAware SE Personal and running that it should find some problems on your computer and you'll be able to remove the little bastards.

  12. Thanks mate hopefully i'll get started on it soon. Keep you guys posted on what it looks like etc.
  13. Yeah i've noticed alot of people appreciate the 240z and there is generally alot of respect for the car and it's history. I've also noticed recently alot more people are taking notice of them and spending more $$ properly restoring them .
  14. Thanks I tried typing in google to find the conversion rate but nothing came up. :cheeky:
  15. From what I've read he's had a few issues with the motor and problems with valves and pistons hitting. The P90 has huge valves to begin with and my machine shop put in some slightly larger ones. PS = HP it's just the German abbreviation so i've read. Your right it looks a little rough under 4000rpm. You can tell by the dyno chart it's up and down until about 4000rpm and it's all on then on. I'm trying to keep my motor build up streetable but wouldn't mind a bit of coughing down low
  16. Here's a revival but i revisted one of my favorite Z's sites and found the dyno results most distrubing but in a good way of course . I had already been told by Alan T that it was somewhere in the 300HP range but the Dyno has confirmed this and caused me to almost wet myself w00t . http://www5a.biglobe.ne.jp/~satotats/zhp/z20/index.htm It's in Japanese and I haven't babblefished it but i think i'll be buying as much Kameari parts as possible .
  17. if you have the money a tripple bypass radiator would be an awesome investment. However i understand 1 step at a time. At least a 280z is already setup for F.I. Good luck with it all.
  18. Hi everyone I've had a bit of a look around on the internet but at the moment there just doesn't seem to be a whole lot of retro Datsun stuff. I want to design a website on my 240z and it's restoration progress. The theme of this site is an old skool Datsun approach. I want it to have that old feel like that feeling you get when you see a Classic Muscle car parked next to a vintage fuel pump or Coca Cola sign. So i guess i would like it if people could post old advertising material. However if anyone knows what FONT Datsun was using in the 70's that would be even better. If you post pictures I can trace them using Adobe illustrator and increase their size from there. So anything you think may be appropriate would be really great. I'm also thinking of using the whole "DATSUN! We are driven" sound file when you first log on. Cheers, Gavin. :cheeky:
  19. And so they should!
  20. Yaeh it does sound tuff as nails. Love the lumpy cam noise i can't wait till mine has that sounds to it.
  21. i think it's more the fact that we had a similar discussion a while ago comparing weber and Mikuni's. It really comes down to personal preferance and parts availability. For me I like the Mikuni's cause they are Japanese and i think suit a Z better than webers.
  22. Yeah I agree totally. If you leave a car in a time capsule things end up drying out or going brittle like bushes etc.. It's better to have a car that is driven regularly and serviced regularly and parts replaced that come with a Nissan part number.
  23. No I don't think it should, I am happy to buy a car that has later brakes, hoses, etc.. However if you put 280z lights in a 240z then I'd say that's incorrect. I guess it depends on tastes. I think a good guideline is to use parts that Nissan improved over the years say an electronic dizzy for example.
