DSCF0001
that's a very nicely dressed ZX I disagree with Kyteler on this one I think the wheels and wing suit the ZX however would not work on a S30.

s20 head-l24 block
You'd be refering to the LY engine head that was fitted to the Works Rally cars. It was not a twin cam head but a crossflow single cam head. Not many of those around either anymore. but they do fit the L series.

240ZG on EBAY JAPAN
I think it's a good car the only thing I don't agree with is the seats I don't think there original. Unless Alan can tell me otherwise many japanese S30 options are still a mystery to me. I was never one for the Gnose until I'd actually see a car fitted with an "ORIGINAL" Gnose. You have to see it in person before you can judge it if you have well your both entitled to your opinion. But I remember looking at my friends yellow Z fitted with a Gnose and finding it very ferrari reminiscent. Anyway that's just my opinion and I converted what the buyer was expecting for the car and it was ~$40,000 AUD so might be a while before I think of buying one. :cheeky:

this sure looks familiar
yeah very good point see when I see my car I see the imperfections when others see it all they see is a nice looking red Z like the first time I saw it. Just went for a car cruise tonight and managed to stir a few people up with the Z I'll give it a go some time soon. Gotta get a Digital Camera again.

this sure looks familiar
I'd like to have a go at making something Only problem is that nearly all photo's I have of a Z are not mine. I guess I need to get permission for this sort of thing from the original owners but I never document where I saved pics from well rarely. I have my own Z but I don't think it looks good enough yet. :classic:

This one made me laugh very true.

Ebay Humor
Then there are the people who bid just to see what happens. They've no intention of buying: they just bid to see the numbers change and their name on the screen. These are the sort of people who'd bang lumps of plutonium together because they've heard it makes a pretty spark. Ebay's infested with the sods.

he all rong
i always like people who are quiet about what there planning to do. IE: let him rave on and work on your Z car and get what you want out of it then one day either take him for a ride or show him how it's done at a set of lights The suprised look will be better than any 20 points of arguement you can make against him. He's your brother and even if your right sometimes us siblings don't like to admit when were wrong haha.

All right you lot, let's have you.
yeah i'd be proud of it too looks really great. Where did you find the 280zaaapp game do you have a good resource for getting roms from? I used to be real into roms and emulators, especially the old Nintendo NES games . I have Shinobi and I used to love that as a kid. Ninja turtles was another good 1 i could go on

Triple Webers: the low-down
Im curious if you looked into the Fuel Injection system that uses multiple throttle boddies like those at http://www.speed-technology.com/efi_intro_animation.html I would like to venture into the idea of tripple carbs but I think it might be better off getting it fuel injected. Any thoughts.

All right you lot, let's have you.
TexasZ is the Mame on it the same as the PC emulator one? I have a collection of roms which run on MAME but I always find it doesn't quite run perfectly to the originals is this the same with your machine? Did you buy the machine or assemble it yourself?

some *punk* scratched my Z!
Tell me about it Victor, I had a previous car vandalised pretty bad for no real reason. They bent the front door forwards smashed the window to get in and deflated a tyre ripped out the stereo and broke the antenna and centre console. Why couldn't they have broken the window and stolen the stereo left the rest alone. Instead 2 bent panels needing paint. 1 window and the list goes on they stole the remote for the remote gate at my house and even my deodorant some little punk kids no doubt. Even now I wanna find out who it is.. At least that wasn't a Z I had my car reversed into not once but twice just after I repaired the first time both times no note left nothing. I feel your pain I really do and as John Travolta said in Pulp Fiction i think it was it would have been worth it just to catch the guy who did it. You never F%^$ with a guy and his car ;-)

Original Rebuild from Nissan
As i understand it they were contracted Pierre Z and another Z workshop to restore these cars by Nissan USA. I have to agree it's a loose term and perhaps to be politically correct they arn't "truely" factory restorations depending on what angle you look at it. But I think the whole concept of a Nissan USA effort to restore these cars to most people indicates that they are a factory restoration. It would have cost Nissan even more to ship these things to and from Japan to sell them at a fair price would have been even harder and as it turned out they still sold at a loss to Nissan. It's a bit like my current job description, I work for a company AT&T who have been contracted by another company Optus. Therefore when I answer a phone call I refer to the customer as if I am an optus employee. Even if I don't directly work for optus. Bit of a poor example but I hope you can see my point. As do I see yours, in a true sense I would not consider it to be a "Factory" restoration but more of a Nissan USA program to authentically restore these cars to factory specification. As Alan also said I am not trying to degrade these 50 or less odd cars I would love to be priveledged to own one myself. :classic:

anyone think this is a 240?
It's never really been a topic of discussion the Black Pearl, the 280Zzap has been but briefly. Zhome.com does mention a bit about it and other important models but I guess living in Australia and us unlucky boys didn't get the 280z I say unlucky because the 260z's didn't have a great fuel delivery system. Anyway what's interesting to know is the 280z apparently sold 2 years after being bought for more than original sticker price. What is also interesting is that it was the first black Z i guess black wasn't the 70's color brown was :-). I think these will be a well sort after classic in some years to come as 26th Z mentioned it would be important to check this cars history to make sure your buying a genuine car. :classic:

anyone think this is a 240?
The fact that it's black and as the owner states on the black pearl was the first Z to be officially black. The FI set up is another give away the 280z's had the first FI systems. The big chunkie bumpers are also a 280z item. :classic:

anyone think this is a 240?
it's a 280z black pearl edition. The owner described it as far as I can see as accurate?

Hit and Run
Alan like the rest have all said you have my sympathy. When I first read through the atricle I was hoping it wasn't the Z. The alfa is not good but your Z is your baby. I have been in a similar situation in my old 2+2 when I had a VK commodore(For the Aussies) doing wheel spins and when I had to wait for him to do a U-Turn I couldn't get past and we looked at each other and from that point on he started to chase me. I ran through several streets and round abouts but he was not so lucky and lost control of his car. He went up on the kerb and hit with enough force for all his hubcaps to fall off. Being with my friend at the time we both agreed to leave ASAP. He caught up with me at a red light got out and I unwound the window ever so slightly he was asking what my problem was and I was telling him i had no problem, which enraged him further and he put his fist through my window. I had his rego aswell and my friend as a witness we both gave statements and it turns out the car was stolen no wonder he was so parranoid. The police did nothing and my friend has seen him driving around the area. On the topic of police doing nothing a friend of mine was almost stabbed while on a break at work at the local supermarket he works at, mainly becaue he didn't give some stranger a cigarette so this guy pulls a knife out and my friend goes back into the supermarket the video shows this guy with a knife in the store. The police still haven't done anything despite knowing where he lives etc... Sad really.
