How about "International Z Club" I dont think you *need* to specify that we're only about the early stuff...

I feel it should have some sort of reference to the Internet, as we really are unique in that sense. "Internet 240z Club" doesn't sound too good IMO however, but as Doehring said "Classic Z Club.com" or "Classic Z car Club.com" are good alternatives... Worth a thought

  4. I understand that they all use the same engine? Is that true? Also, what about mechanics (e.g. gearbox)?? I'm looking for a parts car atm and I've found a couple, but there are plenty of cheap 240C's around and I was wondering how the parts interchange...

Haha ! It's my Z's first award! www.motorcities.com - My car got car of the week! hooray!
  6. Mmmm yes, they do look quite distinctive... Kinda like you bought a muffler and then you realised you didnt have room to put it "normally" so you just whacked it on like that. Can't say I'd have it (unless it was a 432 of course ) on my Z, but it certainly adds to the character of your car...
  7. It is indeed a 432! I now have a red one, a silver one and this yellow one. The beauty of this game is that the cars dont cost you anything to buy, and once you've reached a certain level of credits (which you win by winning races) you can choose a level of tuning for most cars - either normal, light, medium, heavy or race - for free! The Z only goes up to heavy but there are many other things to play around with including camber, front:rear braking force, ride height and gear ratios! And yeah I was going to ask about the double exhaust pipes... they look quite odd. Do they look any LESS odd in real life?
  8. Like I said, I've never seen it in any shop...
  9. ...And the back!
  10. It's a reasonably accurate model, for how old the game is. A few things are just blatantly wrong but all in all it's a good fun drive - especially if you tune it up to "heavy"...
  11. Couple of screenshots of my newly acquired yellow Z
  12. Genuine replica??? Now if that aint an oxymoron.... The only way you'll get a genuine ZG is if you buy a genuine ZG, like Alan did. Perhaps you didn't realise that these "bodykits" if you like were available straight from the factory. I'm sure Alan could explain the ins and outs of the stock ZG stuff in another small novel if you'd like hehe
  13. Oh yeah, I tried that game once. However my old computer wouldn't handle it so I had all these graphics glitches which made the game unplayable... I'll get a screenshot up soon.
  14. I've finally got a hold of this old game called "The Real Car Simulator - Nissan Edition". It has a whole bunch of Skylines and Silvias and 300ZX's... and its got a couple of nice bonus cars too - one being a Z432 Fairlady. Anyway, it's a pretty decent game based on the same graphics engine as Gran Turismo 2 and the whole game is only 8 MB. Too bad it's very hard to find in any computer game store... I've never seen it in any shop. Anyway, I can post a screenshot if you'd like... it's quite a trivial yet fun feeling thrashing a Z with a clear concious
  15. Mmmm... interesting! I'd also like a few of those pictures of the replica you're making if you wouldnt mind...
  16. Alan, Sorry for the late reply but somehow this thread has avoided me somewhat.. I saw a few old Z's and Skylines in a small article in a magazine and they were selling for around $10,000-$15,000 US....... which I thought was expensive seeing as here you'd buy an almost perfect 240z for around $6000 US. Alas, after seeing how much they're worth in Canada and the UK, Japan doesnt seem so expensive after all You're exactly right with that misconception business. I kinda forgot that some people in Japan are NOT business men who want the fullest and latest of every technological device... I always had the idea that the Z432 was the superhot version and that it would be considerably better performing than a 240z. Is this true or just another misconception I have made up... ? I saw your pictures in the galleries, it's absolutely stunning and the bucket seats are very nostalgic. I like! There's something about black wheels which really does it for me too.
  17. The "I send you this file in order to have your advice" worm is very old... I still receive about 3 a day though eesh But yeah, the more warnings teh better eh?
  18. I have a Pioneer 4x45 in mine but I wouldn't know if it actually fits the stock location as before that there was an Alpine tape deck and I didnt install it myself... As for speaker locations, take a look at the following links: http://www.240z.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1647 http://www.240z.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1628 http://www.240z.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2036 That should give you a fair bit of help as we've had quite a big discussion about all this already...
  19. I fail to see a reason why you'd WANT to swap the engines of these two cars...
  20. that just looks dodgy...
  21. 280Z's were never delivered to NZ, where they? And if so, how come they skipped Australia!!!
  22. Why dont you write a book? I'm serious! I really want a Z432... problem is I'm guessing they'd be VERY hard to find and buy, as Japan isn't into keeping old cars and thus Z's are worth a fortune over there... What is your car? Have you got a webpage or anything about it?
  23. Alfadog replied to usafsra's topic in Introductions
Nice... looks like one of those cars which were parked one day and then forgotten about...
  24. Alan, From october '71 you say? Does this include all RHD countries such as Australia and England? My car is HS...3031 series 2 and it has a 5 speed in it - I always assumed it had been replaced at some stage but when I asked the bloke at teh "Z Workshop" he said all Australian Z's came with a 5 speed. Which implied that even the ones before '71 had them... Would you mind telling me the full story, if you dont mind of course?
  25. I swear it was a 432 Fairlady............. I dont have the game though so I'm probably wrong
