Short? Who's short? I'm 6ft and they cut into my neck, my brother's about 5'9"/5'10" and he finds them extra annoying. I'll take some pics of all the bits I got and post them tomorrow.

Well, just thought I'd let you guys know, I got back from my voyage lastnight. The EFI was a bastard to get off and time was running short so I didn't end up getting it, however, the guy who has the car is going to get it off for me and then send it down. I got the 5 Speed, but it doesn't seem to have any identifying numbers on it, does anyone know what part number the box on an HR30 L20E is?? I also grabbed the front section of driveshaft, as chances are I'll need this as it's a different length to an auto one, is that correct?? Also, the head on it was a Y70? or something like that. Does that make sense to anyone and/or can anyone tell me if it's a decent head. I grabbed the computer and such for when I do get the EFI, I've also got the Airbox and the crazy aftermarket filter that was on it. I also grabbed the seatbelt extender things (the things that bolt to the roof and make the point where the belt folds lower), as the seatbelts in the C110 cut across my neck and with these added that should fix that problem. The guy also gave me a Wheels magazine with a review incl. performance numbers on the 240KGT, the cover states, "Japan's first real GT" it has some interesting numbers in there, (I'm sure you'll be interested Alfadog, I'll scan it and post it later if you're keen to see.) I got a spare viscous fan even though I'll probably convert it to an electrical fan at some stage in any case. My brother grabbed the clock because he likes the old 80's digital clocks and he also grabbed the Valve cover, I thought it was ugly so wasn't interested, it has Nissan in huge chunky bold lettering and covers almost half of the length of the cover. But if anyone can tell me anything about the head (Y70 I think) or part numbers for the tranny, I'll be most appreciative and may be inclined to thank them. :classic: OH! and that's another thing, the dizzy wasn't what I expected it's a fully enclosed thing that plugs into the loom and the cap is screwed on and not clipped, so I'm guessing I'll have to have that whole setup on in order for it to be of any use to me, is that right?? Got the coil as well. All this for the loverly price of $100NZD, he asked $80 but he was a nice guy and I didn't want to feel like I was ripping him off even though I still do a tad, but I'm poor so that's all I could manage.

First of all, I'd like to say Welcome, it's always nice to meet or come into contact with other early Skyline enthusiasts. Second of all, I must commend you on your vehicles, the S54 is a fantastic looking car and I would love to own one my KHGC110 will do for the time being though. Thirdly, your picture of 'another car.jpg' I couldn't help but notice the New Zealand licence plates, you don't happen to know whether that person still lives in NZ and if so, have their contact details at all? I look forward to reading your (hopefully) many posts about the wonderful Prince cars.

Hey there, Nice to see people using pictures of my car Uhmm, if you want a set exactly the same as that, your best bet will probably be the Australian guys on the board (alfadog, jmt240kgtr), they have better and more access to such lights. However, if you're after the GTR set, it is opposite to the picture ie. in picture inside circle has reverse lamp outer / brake lamp inner. You should talk to Chloe from MidwestZ, if you're really nice she may find out whether she can get some for you, she's helped me out lots and I'll be buying stuff through her the moment I can. However, expect to pay a pretty penny for GTR ones.

Yeah, I have to agree Alfadog, I'm from NZ but I've always thought it was a general ozzie/aussie exclamation, used when one can't believe what someone has done. When I think of it, it tends to be... "STONE THE BLOODY CROWS, SHIELA! What the HELL did you do that for?!" You Australians. Always make me laugh.

Yeah, they're a nice looking car, and that's all well and good but, as Lance said, payments.. you may think you'll have the cash to cover car payments but this wont be your only problem. Run through a checklist; Can I afford the car? Can I afford Insurance as well? Can I afford the excess should I have an accident? If something happens with that car that isnt under warranty will I be earning anough money to pay for parts for a brand new car? Will I have money to buy anything should something happen where I need cash? Can I afford on road costs? Sure it sounds fantastic to say "I have a Lotus" but you don't want it at the cost of everything else. If you know you can afford or handle all possible scenarios you may face after purchase then by all means, get a Lotus, they're all class, of course the Elise has nothing on the Espirit but still a Lotus.

There is a member here who was put an RB26 into a 240, your best bet for advice on such a conversion from my understanding is www.hybridz.org . Good luck with it though. If you want to maintain RWD you'll have to get a 5speed from a RB25DET, you'll also either have to get custom mounting brackets made or ther are some that will fit it but not in the 'optimal' position. But yes, as I said, best bet. hybridz.

Just out of curiousity do you use strut braces also? If so is it beneficial for the track? I'd imagine it would also help drop the heart rate slightly. But am curious to hear from someone who actually uses a strut brace on a track, not some boy racer who has a strut brace on their unmodified street car.

Auckland's Suckling blew the competition away at a drag racing jamboree near Brisbane the other day. He recorded an 8.55sec estimated time at 165.99mph and backed up with an 8.56sec ET at 164mph to win the Transtasman title. In doing so he beat the 8.61sec world record for a Skyline on street-legal tyres, held by the VeilSide works Skyline GT-R in Japan. Suckling's team manager Graeme Macdonald said: "We're delighted we have a world-record-beating car designed and built right here in Auckland." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ That was earlier this year in September. I was living in Auckland a few years back and spoke to the guy about GTR's and he told me how they'd just bought a Japanese ex-Racer and were bringing it back to NZ to turn it into a beast, and look at the results, I personally saw it in action once at the Skyline Drags at MereMere Dragway, which would be something you American's should come over and see. Mostly Skyline's some other cars here and there but they usually get eaten alive by the Skylines Something to aim for perhaps ZmeFly?

King Spring Super Low's are supposed to lower the car approx. 50-60mm from standard height, Low's are half that if I recall correctly, but they don't make superlows for every application, and they don't list every application they make them for, so you'll have to enquire whether they make them for the Z. Yeah EFI would (will?) be great but to be completely honest I'm more excited about my baby being a 5 speed, I jumped into my VK (which I still haven't sold yet, 3.3L 5spd w/ 350 Holley if anyone's interested ) to do something the other day, and was enthralled and disappointed at the same time, knowing the Skyline was still an auto, but if all goes well... I'll be able to leave some 205 wide black lines down the road. we'll see though, I have to see whether my brother wants to do the trip because I don't want to risk taking the Skyline at the moment and the VK goes through more gas than a V8.

I may have just managed to weasel myself a decent deal, let me know what you guys think. 1. EFI setup ECU inclusive from an L20E. 2. Dizzy, Module and Coil. 3. 5Speed box and other associated manual bit from same R30 Skyline This will be to convert my 240K Single 2BBL Carb Auto into a 240K with EFI, 5speed w/ leccy dizzy, thus making an L24E. All for the lovely price of $120NZD ($70USD & $100AUD) with the provision that I drive 416km's and help the guy remove them from the car. Is it worth the drive? Oh yeah, then I have to drive back 416km, so make that a 832km drive.

The engine number should be stamped on a small flat piece of the block located near the number 5 cylinder, almost directly below the plug for 5, digits are roughly 10mm high. well, that's where it is on mine, correct me if I'm wrong people. Edit: Looks like I got beaten to the punch.

Congrats on the 13.5 man, and a belated Happy Birthday, by the looks of your times if you nailed your launch you'd already be looking at low 13's, with the addition of bigger injectors and more boost you should easily break into the 12's on a good launch as long as you've got enough rubber on the wheel to negate some of the spin you'll get from the added power. But again, congrats on the time, good stuff. What size feet is she wearing at the moment?

What it boils down to is, kids are spoilt. They got annoyed when they only got 300points for collecting something. What the hell is that about? And expecting things to be 3D, psssh. I also grew up with a Commodore VIC20, which was not replaced by the C64, no we didn't get a new computer til my mother won a $5000NZD computer package which contained a state of the art Amiga 500, a computer desk, Star1000 ribbon cartridge colour printer, some games and I think a chair as well. Oh, and an extra 512K (I think) of ram! Now most the games on the A500 were hell on joysticks. We must have went through a billion. That inturn didn't get replaced til they bought a PC after they'd (they as in PC's) finally almost caught up in graphics and sound (almost but not quite), with a 486 DX4-100Mhz. I still think Pong is a cool game. GO PONG!

Heh, that sounds like a good deal Ben, make them see and experience what they missed out on. While you're at it, sit him in a real SX of the 180 or 200 variety, none of this FWD bollocks.
