280ZX Lights On
A picture of my brother's old 79 280ZX in better days, it is now in the hands of someone who is restoring it as it was pretty riddled with rust. I took the spotlights off when I started using it for a while before it got sold.

5 Speed Transmission Question
Hey there guys, I'm sorry I know this is somewhat repeating but I tried a few searches and browsed a few titles and couldn't find what I read a while ago in regards to 5Spd boxes. I'm looking at getting a 5Spd for my 240K, because let's face it, it's not really driving if you're not changing the gears yourself. The guy I bought the car from has one that he was going to use to convert, he's told me it's out of a L28ET DR30, and from what I remember of his descriptions when I was getting the car is it's a good box and so he wants a bit for it, it's the type where 1st gear and reverse are on the same branch, I have no idea what to call the box, or if it has a specific name, but yes, first is Left, then down thus making 2nd and 3rd on the same line and 4th and 5th on the same. Sorry about the crappy description but if anyone knows what I'm talking about and can give me an estimate on what these cost, I'd be very grateful. R 2 4 |_|_| |¯|¯| 1 3 5 Gear config is like above.

Two Z's to look at.
You're looking at getting a Z car.... And you're not a fan of hatchbacks. Uhmm. :stupid:

Restoration
First up, that Custom Z is kinda funky looking and I'd like to say congrats and well done on the find and good luck with restoration. Surely though you can understand skepticism, it's the internet it's 70% lies and ignorance. On a funnier note; The funniest "version" I've seen on a car belongs to that of the Toyota Corona, which comes in a... are you ready for it?! EXCITING VERSION! , Yes the Toyota Corona EXiV actually has "EXCITING VERSION" written on the back on some of them. I'm not sure what their basis for comparison is. Oh, and that Z on ebay... No wonder it sounds like a tiger, he's on running 4-1 headers which would leave 2 exhaust ports to exit directly into the atmosphere. LOL

Why Nissan Fairlady Z
Just to let it be known, we do/did NOT get "ALL" Jap cars in NZ and my bet, CZCar is that you have two 280ZX's. to find out, open the bonnet and look for the VIN number or Engine Plate, infact, you're in NZ, the VIN should be on your Ownership Papers on the top right hand corner. I wish we got all the different Jap cars.

Water leak at no. 6
I have a similar problem on my L24 in the Skyline, if you get your head shaved or simply retorqued or any work done by a shop, could you let me know the price you paid? Being you're in NZ I can expect to pay a similar amount I'm guessing. It's a small leak, there's no water in oil, compression test is pretty much identical in all cylinders no watery spark plugs so yeah, except it's not at the back of 6. It's at the RHS of 5. But yes, if you get anything done I'd be most appreciative if you could let me know the costs involved.

C110 Skyline & GT Badges
One of the ones I have looks like faded red and the other like faded yellow, now that you mention it, except they both have the same part number so they're probably both faded yellow. It probably wouldnt be too hard to get red put in place of the yellow but thanks for the heads up.

Vintage Wood Momo Wheel HELP!!!
Of course, with a bit of searching you could use an actual Datsun wheel with a wooden rim and steel spokes as used on my car. You can view it here. http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=6591&size=big&password=&sort=7&thecat=500 However, it will probably be easier to find an of the era MOMO style. Good luck in your search.

What to do...
I agree with Z Kid, let us know, even though I've recently bought my own new old car, there was another guy from NZ not so long ago who was in search of a 240Z, as I'm sure you know in NZ they're a rare find... I know if I had the moolah I'd find a way to get it, regardless of it's unknown completion ability. Also, I see you have a website devoted to older cars, have you got plans for it to be like an online car magazine or something?

C110 vs. TA22

C110 4dr Racing
Just a pic I found on the net of the 4 door C110 in full flight, thought it looked quite good with the flares, rear spoiler and front air dam.

240K Front from Level
I've seen a few pictures of various ones in Japan and they seem to differ in size slightly anyway so I think I'll just get one made up or make one myself, it may cost a bit but doesn't everything.

240K Voltage Regulator
Yeah, I got one from a wrecker although i dont know what car he got it off, the wiring and plug was the same though for $15 and I also bought a brand new one for when or if the second hand one craps out, the new one's I got are adjustable, that one there is a solid unit, the local Appco traced exactly what one to use off the Alternator model number, incase anyone's wondering.

240K from Australia
Some of the more observant Australians may have noticed something similar in the windscreen of my 240K in the other photos of the car, it would seem she resided in Australia before her journey to NZ, unfortunately (but to be expected) all the info has sun-faded off. Yet the sticker remains.

240K Rear 3qtr
A shot of her gleaming in the sun, you'll have to excuse the hideous colour of my parents house in the background.
-
240K Tail-lights
I love the round tail lights, I'm trying to source the original "SKYLINE" badge for the rear so I can remove the signwritten version which was put there because the PO got sick of people thinking it was a Mazda.
-
240K Front from Level
It certainly looks slightly more aggresive with the bigger single holed grill than with the standard. Now all she needs is the front air dam.

- 240K Right Front 3qtr

240K Twin Headlights
Shot of the twin headlights showing also the GTR badge and the park lamp/indicator which at the time the photo was taken was around the wrong way, it's all sorted now, the left was on the right and vice versa
-
240K Voltage Regulator
This little thing sits under a small steel panel, doesn't look like an original one and could very well be the cause of some of my woes.

240K's Engine Bay (from the right)
SHe's a bit unkempt but she'll be a constant running resto project anyway so I'll get there eventually.

240K's Engine Bay (from the left)
Unfortunately when I got the car it din't have it's standard air cleaner luckily the RamFlo 600 I had in the shed fit on her perfectly.
