  1. Not that I have ever heard of. You really have better luck with http://www.z31.com/ for that kind of question or questions about anything beyond a 280ZX.

I think you've missed the point. Unless you posses the skills to do the complete conversion, instaling factory ac on an non ac 280Z would be very tedious. I'm and HVAC tech and I doubt if I would do it. Aftermarket would be much easier to install in a non ac 280Z.
  3. I don't know about that badge but I notice that one of the badges pictured to the left and above it in your second picture commemorates 'FISCO'. I have a FISCO badge and a few years back Alan T. told me about it here.
  4. That's actually a good price for a new trans. Nissan wanted $2,424.54 MSRP for those when they had them.
  5. I have one. It's a two piece made by Le Bra. If you do get one make sure it's two piece which allows you to open the hood without having to mess with the bra. I like it, it fits nicely and protects the front end from dings but they do have their drawbacks. The paint underneath it won't fade like the rest of the car so unless you take it off from time to time.....well you can see the problem that causes. Mine has been on the car basically since the paint job dried in 1998. I occasionally remove it when I wax the car. When you remove it, you can definately see where it was. If you can live with that, it's cool. I have learned to live with it over the years but, I'll tell you what, if I ever paint the car again, no bra!
  6. 81-83 280zx's would have a P79 head on a F54 block. As long as it's not a turbo, that would be the combination.
  7. I'd say they're blue with correctly bent end(#6).
  8. You were asking about the 'correct' wires. I was unsure of your meaning but I assumed you meant OEM. Taylor wires are good wires. I've used them on other cars but have not tried a set on a Datsun. The only problem I can see with the ones you show is that they all appear to be pretty much the same length. Just for the heck of it I measured my sprare set of blue 7mm NGK wires, the same as the ones on both my 810 and my Z. #1 wire is about 6" shorter than #6. Going from #1 to #6, they measure 28, 30, 32, 32, 33, and 34 (bent end).
  9. One of the benefits of being a "Retired Datsunologist":)
  10. 22450-N4325 is the L28 OEM spark plug wire set. It supercedes to 22450-N4326 at NissanParts.cc. It also shows as 22450-00006 and 22050-N4326 at Courtesy & Courtesy. I don't know if you get the 'correct' set through Nissan with the change of part numbers but the price is a little better at NissanParts.cc.
  11. Correct or not, those are the same wires I have on my 280Z and my 810. I even have NGK wires on the old truck. Those have bent boots for all four plugs.
  12. Valve seals are easy, guides are a little more work, and rings/bearings are even more work but I do all of the dissasembly and assembly myself. The only things I pay for are the parts and the machine work. From the time this discussion began to now, 6 days, I would have already run the tests to determine what's needed, tore it down, purchased the needed parts, sent the stuff to the machine shop that needed to go there, and either be finished or in the final assembly stages depending on how quickly I wanted it done. But that's just me, I've been doing it over 40 years.
  13. Why? He said the problem is gone over a month ago.
  14. I didn't take your comment that way. I was unable to hear some of the lyrics clearly on this computer. I took four years of Spanish in school between high school and college and though it's not the same as knowing it since birth, I do okay though nowhere near what you'd call 'fluent'. I have a Spanish speaking brother in law, and nephew. Ruben Estrada and Guillermo Ortiz. And my older sister, Saundra, has a language arts degree, speaks fluent Spanish and French, and taught Spanish in high school so I do get the opportunity to practice it.
  15. Well, it reached me anyway. But when it comes to music, that's something that I'm probably into more than cars. I have a BA degree in music. My emphasis was (is) conducting, arranging, and scoring. I also play woodwinds, keyboards and bass so music is something that I probably pay more attention to than the average person.
  16. Well, I got most of it. The audio on my garage computer isn't the best. Two little slits that they call speakers on the bottom of the monitor.
  17. With the new stereo I have in my daily driver, I don't even need cd's. It plays an SD card. I can put about 200-250 songs on a 2gb card.
  18. I've actually heard that before now that I think of it. It's from an album called 'Hanine y Son Cubano'. The song is "Ala Bali". My brother in law Ruben has a pretty good collection of salsa type music.
  19. This is what I get from the Spanish lyrics that the man sings: "I love you, I adore you, love you, adore you, you're my life" and something like "your smile drives me crazy". No clue on the Arabic!

  21. It's what we used to call a stroker cap. The top has a snap that snaps on to the bill.
  22. The jackets were flimsy but I've had this hat for a long time and I still wear it occasionally like to car shows, etc.
  23. I do still have the cap, however.
  24. I also had one of those jackets back in the day. In fact I had two. One when I bought the 70 and one when I bought the 72. Both long gone, cars and jackets:(
