  1. Cool! Thanks for the info Chas! My 9/75 production 280 has the fuel switch.
  2. Six hours in the shop yesterday.... Got some more media blasting done and then took a break to blow off a lot of the dust and have a look at the progress. Looks good, some small stuff still to do but getting there. I will have to wire wheel some spots where there's is some rubber residue etc. decided to tackle removing the seat mounts. Wasn't looking forward to this as the floors had been rewelded by the PO and it wasn't going to be pretty. I was right. I ended up destroying a lot of the good sheet metal on the driver side trans tunnel removing the seat mounts. The passenger side fought less and came out a little easier. The spot weld cutters were a joke, both of them burnt out or broke on one side. Ended up using a small and large drill bit to do the rest. By the time I was done, I had a drill, grinder, air wheel cutter, sawzall, air chisel and hammer laying on the floor beside me. Let's just say I didn't feel like taking pictures of my work yesterday.... But they're out! And the metal can be replaced so it is still progress!!
  3. Chas is right as usual! Valance support and horn mounts.
  4. Patcon has also been hard at work biting off small pieces of his donor 280 for me...
  5. Should be the same I would think.
  6. How can you tell? Wait till its media blasted...
  7. The sending unit for the 280 is waaaaay more than the 240.... The o-ring is the same though. I don't think I've seen a NOS sending unit for sale anywhere.
  8. Very important on high HP/Tq vehicles. My 370Z was checked at 0.00" of thrust angle and 0.01" of negative toe. Under hard acceleration things can get squirrelly fast if you're not aligned. I'm not sure if it is as critical on the 280 though... Recommended I'm sure.
  9. Almost forgot about the stuff I found a week ago too! I picked up a set of tail lights and two spare valve covers plus some of the tail light surround molding from local 280Z owner. Mostly just spares for the shelf but I will try and experiment a bit with the valve covers. I would like to TIG weld up the top valve case vent and relocate it to the back of the cover against the firewall, also remove the bossings for the spark plug wires and then either polish it or ceramic powder coat it. Maybe paint another valve core the same as the body colour with polished lettering on top. Will have to see!
  10. Just relieved to have found a good tank at a reasonable price. The previous owner sounds like a real nice guy too.
  11. Not yet. It is in the mail and I have a tracking number. I will post some shots of the inside and sending unit when it arrives. The fuel pump assy is a spare basically. Unknown condition but the car it came from only had 50,000 miles on it.
  12. I have a set waiting to go in. Awesome quality and best value. Add the bad dog reinforcement frame rails (over the zeddfindings patch rails) and you have a forever solution.
  13. Zeddfindings will provide replacement panels. Best way to go by far. New floors equals piece of mind for the long run.
  14. Gas tank looks good. That's important. Easier to find unicorns...
  15. Update: fuel tank and a fuel pump assy have shipped! Emblems were a no go as they had already been sold Also ordered a five speed shift knob that will ship as soon as he can find it .
  16. Price on front section shipped...
  17. Those are pretty nice!
  18. wheee! replied to Boomguy's topic in Help Me !!
Just thinking out loud but would the 4 spd adapter plate fit the 5 spd? Same bearings and positions?
  19. Looking forward to seeing these in person! Now to order the bumpers....
  20. If it was on my street I'd buy it.... Hard to find a decent Z car up here
  21. Probably random...
  22. Some pics of the stuff I'm ordering... Gas tank Box of emblems
