  1. Helped out a fellow forum member with a broken alternator adjuster. Taka has a beautiful Rebello built motor in his custom 260, but needed a temporary fix for a bad adjuster. A new one is on its way from 'murica. Pulled one off my spare engine. Cleaned it up in the sandblaster then wire wheeled it and shot it in clearcoat. Can't have a sows ear in that silk purse! Now he can at least drive until the billet replacement shows up.
  2. I was going to use it on the bottom of my car too. Then I went 2 part DTM primer and I am glad I did. I did use POR 15 on the interior though. I never want to work on that floor again! The POR I used was the silver kind with extra metal. Superstrong and basically a lifetime application. The next step is soundmat and then carpet.
  3. You are starting with a normal condition Datsun! They all have issues. Some more than others. Yours looks manageable. Congrats!!
  4. Check your driver door production tag too. Curious to know your build date.
  5. They will let this fester for a week or two then roll out a $50 a year plan that everyone will jump on and think is a steal. Reverse psych. If they would have offered that first everyone would have still freaked out and complained. Now they will jump on the $50 plan.
  6. A little pseudo time lapse... Whew!
  7. I doubt that Matt! But I still reference your build time to time.
  8. He was an innovator and had a unique sound, but was not my favourite of that era. I am not saying he was bad by any stretch, just not my cup of tea. Having said that, I own a few of his LP's.....
  9. Over rated IMHO Randy Bachman on the other hand...
  10. Running Back to Saskatoon, Orly, Your Backyard, Stand Tall, Break it to them Gently.... the list goes on and on and on.....
  11. No dice... he's all yours and take Celine Dion with you!
  12. Yes. I wanted to make it easy to wash off the road grime. And to look pretty.
  13. Thanks. I appreciate the feedback. I post a lot of pictures for my own reference later, but I remember how I lived vicariously through@hazmatt and all his posts too!
  14. Joni Mitchell = Saskatoon K.D. Lang = Alberta Tegan and Sara = Vancouver Loverboy = Vancouver ... don't know about Blind Melon I saw KD when she was a drop in performer at the Sidetrack Cafe in Edmonton in the Early 80's Rush is my all time favourite Canadian band though I think... or is it Burton Cummings? so much Cdn talent out there....
  15. Actually the new touch-less laser washes work wonders on the underside of the car! I am not a fan of auto-washes in general, but the underside spray is a nice touch and I have used it on occasion with my 370Z. This 280Z will see very little in the way of road grime and mud, let alone snow or salt! I expect that the clear coat should make it fairly easy to spray clean. I hope!
  16. Thanks! The proof is in the previous 55 pages
  17. But we also have Shane Yellowbird! Check out his song "Me and My Old Pickup Truck..."
  18. And with the rubberized armour coating applied...
  19. Thanks guys! Nerves are shot, but expectations have been met or surpassed. This was a really good chance for me to practice before the body paint later. Learned a few more things as I went along. Clear is a finicky thing to shoot.
  20. Masking for the bed armour on the rails.
  21. The floor rails are getting covered in bed armour for protection.
  22. Long night.... Clear went on beautiful. Hoping for next to no orange peel. Two quarts disappeared fast though... Didn't clear the interior. That's getting Dyna matted.
  23. Disepyon and "standard" do not go together. Out of everyone's league.
  24. ... and I cringe to acknowledge Nickelback as from Alberta....
