  1. Carl, I did not realize what a philosopher and poet you are, and you are absolutely right, my project was a 37 Ford pickup. Fred
  2. We have talked about #51 before: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25547
  3. Jacksonville, Florida to Whidbey Island Washington. 5 days, my butt hurt.
  4. Does anyone know what this looked like originally? I want to restore this, Fred
  5. Help, We need pictures!
  6. http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/car/331494390.html I just saw this on Craigslist, I do not know the seller or the car.
  7. Chris, Carl, Jim, etc... I think it is time to convene a meeting of the low VIN club, it has been a while. Mike has a great car, one major rust issue and a few more originality issues. I think we have a new member. Fred
  8. I have not done 70-73 taillights yet but on 75-78 ones very warm water does the trick. Fill them up on the inside and run water over the outside for about 3 minutes and the adhesive loosens up and the lenses pop out.
  9. UNBELIEVABLE! You could buy a car for that much.

  11. All that stuff can be found, but does it have a red dot mirror?
  12. All, Thanks for the compliments, I really like this floor. I used http://www.epoxy-coat.com/ I also had them do the installation. Why? Because they did it in 2 hours. Now that I know how to do it I would do it myself. Us amateurs would wash/scrub the floor to get the grease/oil up. Then let dry. Then use an acid to etch and let dry. Then you mix the epoxy and brush on the edges, the center is rolled. Then you start flinging flakes and aluminum oxide (grit) into the air. That process would have taken me days. What do they do? Bring a floor grinder with a vacuum hose attachment with a "diamond polishing" pad thingy. They "sanded" the floor in about 45-50 minutes. Then mixed up the stuff and did the rest. It is not too slick due to the flakes and grit. We picked the flake colors to highlight HLS30-00095 in wonderful BRG. Since this is not a water based epoxy it is a lot more resistant to the problems that you have with many of the kits.
  13. Here are some pictures, adding new electrical outlets, additional lights. and painting over 35 years old dirt! The 3rd picture shows the flakes and texture of the floor. I am proud of the hood rack in the last pic. Fred
  14. All, I have been working on my garage, shouldn't it be as nice as the car? Anyway, the floor is drying and I love it. Why does it snow in Virginia in April when I have my floor installed? Will post pictures soon. Here is the link of who I worked with: http://www.epoxy-coat.com/ Lots of good info on this site but a very confusing layout: http://www.epoxyproducts.com/garage4u.html Here is a site that most people use: http://www.ucoatit.com/ That is water based. Fred
  15. If this is the car I think it is we have seen it before. Owned by "ZCAR" on Ebay, who used to own a z shop. It is a project, I think these are the right pictures. He had it for sale about 4 or 5 years ago.
  16. Mike, I have never heard that we can get a dash done that cheap, where? Fred

  18. The word on the mats is that they should not be in a stock judged car. It should be like it came off the boat. If you are in another class then the ADCO mats are fine. Also the hand throttle is an interesting discussion. They only came on the first 1200-1400 cars, I will have to check the technical bulletins to tell you the exact number. So if your car is in the first 1200 or so it would be fine. If your car is a 12/70 then it did not come on your originally, so we would probably take points off, but I will have to check the rules. Again if your car is not in stock this is not an issue.

BTW the white Z was a very fast V-8 car. And the blue 280Z with ACCENTZ tags is a prior Gold Medallion winner.

Mark, I was there in my copper 78 too, I did not know you were there. It was my first track event and I learned a ton. My instructor was Tom Barnett in the maroon 280Z. He took me for a ride, very fast. Says he runs at 2 boost settings 350hp or 450hp. He ran this weekend with a tranny that had no 5th, he still rocked. I never realized how different it was between track and autocross driving. Fred
  23. #40 and #95 both have screws and washers. The washers appear to be the same as used somewhere else.
  24. I will take 3, pretty please?
