  1. The markers they used in the factory ( if they did ) prob was crayon or something, that dissolved not paint. For a restoration I dont need it personally, its not like you are doing assembly line stuff anymore
  2. 1972 Datsun Z-Series 240Z | eBay Wow what happend here ? 🙄
  3. 1970 Datsun 240Z | eBay Where to not lift a z 😑
  4. Yeah I know what it is, I just think it's a bit overkill
  5. The valve cover should be "cast aluminium look " instead of polished...
  6. All those yellow dots remind me of a shop here called " Stipt Polish Point " 😹. Looks cool but a bit over done imo. Can't you just torque everything down without those markings lol
  7. Most of these cars will be ending up just sitting collecting dust sadly
  8. I"m curious how it drives if I would have the chance. Ive seen a lot of " quickly cosmetic refurbished "classics for $$$, but when you drive them you get that feel not everything was done correctly, imo no real car mechanic worked on it, but some backyard hobbyist.
  9. Looks good, love the " Vredestein " tyres.. Dutch brand The choke knob is not the correct one, Dash looks re-sprayed or something, middle console to, and door panels are not original to, partly refurbished. But it is done nicely. For the rest.. really nicely done early 240Z
  10. I called the shop today, he will try to have a look on the other 5 speed coming weeks. Im not in a hurry, he is alone and has lots to do.. So when that is finished I have everthing complete to swap the drivetrain to the euro spec.. I will see when could take a few years, have plenty of things to do now, currently restoring 2 classic mopeds from here ( kreidler and zundapp ).. and also this winter have to finish welding work on the 67 chevelle.
  11. Its done nicely, although I see some points . Front bumper could have been lined up better with the buckets. Shiney underside is nice, but don't drive that in colder states, rust within a year assured
  12. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1972-datsun-240z-236/ It seems many people back in the day thought the frame rails was a good jacking point....🤭
  13. About the same here in Europe. I predicted this a long time ago. A big crash or " economic reset " is coming.
  14. Good one. I think not because they where titled as 70 , since so few where made in 69. But for me the factory build tag remains the build date, not when it was titled, although this system is still beeing used today. Correct me if i am wrong woke z police 🤣
  15. @katshttps://www.justdashes.com/ These guys restore dashes, i came across it when Jay Leno featured it. Some must have known before, the owner started out with Datsun z dash... If you can do it yourself offcourse that will save a lot of money
  16. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_P_engine That's not related to the L series Nissan engine. The third generation has the 2.8 L series though as an option. Nice Patrol you have there!
  17. Haha this is funny, cause it's confusing my dad all the time. In his memory he makes the 280ZX the 280Z. Then I tell him there never was a 280Z here haha. Alot of people confuse the 280Z and ZX cause the name 280.. I think
  18. It could be, but also not. Those tag plates where made in mass for 69/70/71 etc, then a stamping machine put the serie number and month into it. ( or it could be done by hand, maybe Kats knows this )
  19. It's a 70 according to the door tag, sold in 71, titled in 71.
  20. S30 series is S30, even with all the different versions of it. A factory designation for a chassis series. Then came the S130. You are making a way to big thing of this
  21. Your saying the same but in a more difficult way .
  22. The '' factory designation '' yes.. Like an example.. BMW called it's 3 series " E36 " in the 90's for instance, or like Mercedes called the 190 model the " W201 " In common language for the average folks, it's simply a Datsun 240Z, 260Z or 280Z ( S30 )
  23. Once again confirming there is no such things as a series 1,2 3 .. Changes like with other brands just went througout production
