Welding hat not dimming
But that's the point, why sell a man one helmet when you can sell him two.

Looks like Lincoln wants you to replace the ADF cartridge.

Three 240Zs Sell at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale for Big Money
Anyone want to take a guess at what those same three Zs' would have gone for on BaT or ebay? They might have reached the same numbers but I have a feeling that the excitement of a live in person auction and the Barrett Jackson name probably helped boost them up some what.

Where to go with this rusthole

I should ship my ///MZ down there and put it up on the block, might end up with enough to build two Zs

Three 240Zs Sell at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale for Big Money
Yeah, that was interesting, but that car wasn't just another run of the mill LS engine swap, someone built that car as a custom, it looked well planned. Nice to see that recognition.

Front strut cartridge removal
The very early original shocks used the tube and a seal under the top cap to hold the damper oil in, they had a lot of problems with them failing so they were phased out, however they came out easily every time so they had that advantage. So when you do finally get those shocks out, before you install the new ones clean the insides of the tubes as much as you can and pour in a little less than an oz. of any oil you have handy. You won't need much, ATF, 10w30 whatever you have, it will not only transfer some of the heat to the outside of the tube but more importantly it will help keep the new shocks from ceasing in the tube. Sort of paying it forward.

Front strut cartridge removal
You're missing heat, sometimes those inserts can be real buggars to get out. Get yourself a bottle of MAP gas and put some heat into the tube, once it is good and hot spray it with your Kroll or WD40 around the top lip to cool it quickly. 3-4 cycles of that routine should get it moving, you can also give it some wacks with small hammer but not enough to dent, you are just trying to break up the corrosion. You appear to be a diy guy so I won't go into all the usual disclaimers.

That will teach him not to remove the diving board bumpers, what do you think it will go for?

Interesting early Z on BaT
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1970-datsun-240z-32/ The L24 engine has been replaced with a JDM 2.0 L with 73 flat top carbs. The seller hasn't responded to questions of why. The original block and head come with it but no mention if there is any damage to them. Also a throttle lever installed even though the VIN is HLS30-04000 Otherwise the car looks to be in pretty good shape.

We're bringin' back the Flat Tops!
"ugly bags of mostly water" I think, says another STNG geek. Funny you say that because I have never seen it work yet, I have even sprayed my hand with it and the skin only feels cool not -42*C But then I live up here so my Government has probably taken the good stuff out! So dry film lube coatings are offered in different colours? That's good info.

Just Did The Honda Blower Motor Swap
Yes, early Z's have metal squirrel cage. I just assumed that @72ZDave was doing the Honda swap on an early car because, well why else would you go to the trouble of swapping? And of course the 72 in his online name @Namerow, John, do you remember what thread it was where both you and I had our blowers out of the car for restoration and we were doing some testing? It was at least two years ago, I can't remember if we came out with any conclusive numbers, just thought there might be some useful info there.

Just Did The Honda Blower Motor Swap
The real benefit to the Honda blower motor swap is not the motor, it's light plastic squirrel cage. It is a fraction of the weight of the stock steel fan, the motors are similar but the Honda unit blows harder because it doesn't have to spin up the weight of the stock fan. I tried to find a way to install the plastic squirrel cage on the stock motor but couldn't find an easy safe way of doing it.

83 280zx turbo half shaft CV's
I had forgot all about this thread until @Elliott000 had some questions about the set up. I have about 2000 mi. on these shafts now and no problem of any kind, working perfectly.

Big bumper love - $16,000 77 280Z
I hope he does get more for it than $16,300, it appears to be very good condition.

I'm sorry, what? Glovebox signed by Mr. K and only $25 gran??
Mr. K would sign anything put in front of him, he was very generous that way. I don't think a Mr. K signature adds to the price yet but maybe. The engine bay mods are desireable but the rest of the interior and exterior mods are only going to bring his price down, it's a very 80's.

1973 240Z worth a look, near Indianapolis
I just went through the 60 photos at the link, there is some serious rust going on underneath, both floor pans, lower fenders, doglegs maybe a rocker, maybe rear fender lips.

It is those rear quarters that scare me, god knows what you are going to find when you remove them.

My 71' 240z
Welcome to the forum, you will find this place is very un-facebook like. So brought over from UK, strange, it certainly appears to be a NA car. What are your plans, rotisserie resto, rolling resto? To get all the rust you really will have to strip it down to the shell, you might beable to find more history for the car on the Zhome registry.

Deburring Tool
That red swivel head deburring tool is specifically designed for machine shops, you take your work piece off the lathe/mill and clean up the sharp edges before moving to the next stage, of course it can be used for other things as well. A very satisfying tool to use as the blade is always in the best position for cutting.

She's a beauty! Are there many Z's in Dubai? Any pics of the engine bay?
