L6 Engine Calculator
hf240z, This combo won't work because the pistons will be above the block @ TDC by 2.73mm. If you use the L24 crank the deck height will be right but capacity drops back to a 2.6 litre. Always check the deck height when using this calculator, you don't want to be too high or too low with piston deck height. I just ripped open an L28 with flat tops, P90 head & L24 crank that someone had put together some time ago. Now even if this combo engine had a turbo hanging off the side of it, the compression @ 6.6:1 would still be a little low. Nick.

Yes James, it's my panel shop business. As for the $240,000 car, no it's not the flare (I can't for the life of me work out what it is). I might put some pics in my gallery for ya'll. Nick.

L24E cylinder head
Got ya James, I have a P90 on a F54 L28 with flat tops which is going to cop a re-build soon but will be putting the efi E88 onto it, should give me around the 10.5. I will set it up with programmable efi (no restrictive AFM) to run her in then have the multiple throttle bodies bolted to the custom intake I've made. Should look neat. As for the GTR replica, it will be getting primed over the weekend.

L24E cylinder head
Go to the "calculator" again and click on the head cc's box, delete the figure & type in 41.0 then hit enter. I think you wil find that to get over 9.0 comp you will need flat tops with valve relief's. (just incase you run a high lift cam).

E88 head; off 1983 Skyline 2.4E
My choice of head to use as well but with the larger N42 valves. You'll find this head has around 41cc's I don't think it's anything like the P90 though, the P90 is a turbo head with much larger chamber, 53.6 cc's.

L24 head
Alan, May be of interest to you, I've measured one at 107.7mm & was told by Stewart Wilkins Rally that all standard L series heads were 108mm. Maybe thats for the ozzie cars only but I doubt it. Nick.

RB mounts and things of that sort:)
Charles, To make the sump fit it's just a matter of cutting it 10mm below the bolting face all the way around, turning it around 180 deg & welding it back on. Do the welding while you have the sump flange bolted up as this will stop warpage. Next you have to cut the oil pick up & position it correctly for welding. All RB engine mount brackets bolt up in the same spot in the block, the only differences are some are made of alloy & others made of steel. Go for the steel type, easier to cut & weld for the slight mods required. Hope this is of some help. Nick.

Trail Fit 1
Z Kid, with alot of effort & time. Had it in & out that many times to get it right. Gav, fingers X'd that it will handle better, & the reason for SR over RB, the RB is/has been done too often & the SR is light & good power can be extracted with little effort.

Whats up with my 240
Do you have another set of ignition leads to try & eliminate the possibility? You mentioned changing alot of items except the leads. Nick.

Whats up with my 240
I'd be checking the ignition leads as well. Nick.

N42 head on L26
Hi Sulio, Your compression will not increase by much using the N42 as it has a very similar combustion chamber to your E88 & if you shave the head too much to get the required comp you will need 2 or 3 shims under the cam posts. I prefer using the E88 out of a EFI Skyline (highly recommended by Stewart Wilkins Rallying) which has a much better & smaller chamber & then replacing the valves with the N42's. I have one of these heads all ready to go, it's been fully reconditioned with the N42 valves in it & shaved around 20 thou (I have the 20 thou shims for it as well), I would like $500 for it if you're interested. Nick.

specific question on rb26dett swaps
The only other thing that comes to mind is the r/h seat runners & brackets might need altering/changing, might even consider different seats, GTR maybe! Nick.

specific question on rb26dett swaps
I don't believe it will alien-e, this 4WD set up is computer controlled. When it senses slip from the rear wheels it tranfers 50% power to the front wheels. pdxvento, the problem you will encounter though is you will have to cut out & fabricate a section of the right side floor & tunnel to accommodate the transfer case. Hope this helps, Nick.
