  1. My local Nissan Dealer took an '83 non-turbo with 56,000 original miles. White with red velour interior and all options except the turbo, they're asking $10,000. I thought that was crazy until seeing this.
  2. Mine has those mags too. The guy I bought it from said they were a dealer add on as was the A/C. He called them 'Slotted Wheels, or Slots'.
  3. Bonzi Lon, your the luckiest person in Kansas from all your post I've read. Forget Kansas, the luckiest all around! Happy life sir.
  4. Thanks for putting that up. I'd like to frame that centerfold.
  5. Thanks for those machinist suggestion, I've read tons about Rebello heads, I actually just need a cam, size info and installed on an E31. I went and looked and luckily my 07/'72 has four bolts. Best of luck with your dilemma dltalfa, I hate the idea of drilling "new" holes on something so old. Thanks again guys.
  6. About half way down they show one from Summit, S shaped, Technical Information Page ..... Transmission
  7. Look where someone put subs in GrantF's car at some point.
  8. Could you drill a 4th hole? I will run into this too, my fronts look good but the rears are torn in a couple of places. This is off your subject but do you know of a good shop in Birmingham for cylinder head work? Thanks, Cliff
  9. Banzai Motorworks has them for $25, Banzai Motorworks I'm sorry, I didn't read the #1 post that says they're out of stock.
  10. Thanks Leon, I'll spend that new clutch money on the head.
  11. Could someone that's owned one suggest a street-able clutch for an aluminum flywheel for my mostly stock '77 280Z? It came with a 240 I recently bought and I would like to try it out on the less revy 2.8 motor. I am using a standard Exedy clutch with the original steel flywheel but could put it in my Hardbody pick-up later on. Any replies would be helpful. Thanks, Cliff.
  12. The only reason I could see for the elevated floor in the deck area is for the compressed air bottle for the un-inflated spare they put in in early '77s. It's about 4" tall, laying down. Under the ashtray, is a good spot unless you have weight, or so I've been told.
  13. Man this great. I got the Dash Top #303 from MSA last Christmas, 2011, and am now going to attempt putting it on but not until your finished! Thanks for posting this.
  14. Foam oven cleaner works good for me with a brass wire brush. Cleaned a valve cover yesterday.
  15. Just replaced mine on a '72 and it has 2 alignment dowels on the front cover. 1 at 2 o'clock & and the other at 8 o'clock. Hope that helps.
  16. Just got one for my '77 RockAuto Auto Parts
  17. Here's somebody to call JLP. Add says he has a dash. It's 45 minutes from me, good old 2 lane country road too. I'd gladly go down and look at his stuff.
  18. Do they all run hotter than 280's? Mine doesn't have the belly pan or the fan shroud my 280 has, I figured that was the reason, temp gauge needle sits on the "F". That's not too hot is it? Was on the right leg of the "M" in TEMP until I put in a new water pump and thermostat. 2nd question, why is one of the two 1/2" pipes coming out the back of my breather box tapped up? The other goes to the valve cover. Thanks for any replies.
  19. I bought that book too Dr 240Z. Now I have all 3, How to Rebuild by Tom Monroe, How to Modify by Horwitz, How to Restore by Humble. A lot of the same info but couldn't live without them right now, one's in my bedroom, one in bathroom and one on my coffee table. Now I need that Z Therapy Dvd for the carbs.
  20. I'm going to go look for sure if they're still available. Send me a PM of your parts list and I'll get pictures of them. I need some things too, maybe we could work out something. I could meet you at Tennesee/ Kentucky line or whatever is half way. I've got access to double axle trailer and 2500 GMC. Maybe one for you and one for me?
  21. If it ever quits raining I could go take a look and see them up close. Maybe this weekend? I'll pull a Paparazzi flash bomb on them.
  22. 1972 & 1973 Datsun 240Zs'
  23. You could put the shifter in a vice then use something shaped like a V, needle nose pliers, and tap it with a small hammer. Seems like mine came off pretty easy, there greasy already. Andrew's idea sounds better than pliers.
  24. Mine is on the top like Fastwoman's and when I cleaned my tank it got gone somehow? I bought this one at my local Nissan dealer, #17342-1800 RING-O :: Nissan Parts, NISMO and Nissan Accessories - Courtesyparts.com
  25. Here's some on ebay datsun under hood light | eBay
