  1. I've taken a look at three 2.4 heads I have, they don't have drilled cams, two E88s and an E31. The N47 had the first drilled cam in my experiences. If it's been reground it should have some information engraved in the end like who reground it and their profile number. I bet the previous owner took the spray bar off and installed a drilled A cam in your 2.4. Those spray bars scare me, they get loose where they're are brazed together and lose their "aim" to the lobes. Leak at the cam towers too if you don't keep the bolts tight and the gasket in between is just a thin piece of paper that falls loose. My opinion only. I'm running both the drilled cam and spray bar with a high flow turbo oil pump, if it ever gets put together.
  2. What orange did you use on the air cleaner? It looks really good.
  3. Here's some nice instructions on that clear filter, it's a must on these cars. http://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/fuel/g3filter/index.htm Hey there ZCurves. Did you ever get your hot restart resolved? Hadn't seen too much of you on here lately, life gets in the way.
  4. Well of course I was wrong, N47 shows to be an A cam. http://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/cam/index.htm
  5. That was the first laugh of the day, thank you!
  6. Must be taking a writing course at the Community College, that's a good read.
  7. Finally had a chance to take some pictures of my Duplicolor Old Ford Blue. I don't think it's very close to the original after spraying, it matches the cap fairly well though. Pontiac Blue will be next. Outside, no flash; LED shop light with flash; Fluorescent Shop light with flash;
  8. Spark plugs then air filter. Mine averages about twenty mpg, dogging the s**t out of it. You should also check the bullet connectors from the coolant temp senor. Shine them up.
  9. Bittersweet drive but the car ran good. SWEET! Save me a chair at the pool!!
  10. Yes your are correct sir! 18" fits my '77 & '72s. Before I found those I had blades zip tied through the pin hole.
  11. Original datsun cam will have the word JAPAN in raised lettering too. Also E30 or something like that. Sorry for the guesses but I'm sitting in my doctors waiting room now on my phone.
  12. Datsun cams have B and F maybe a C stamped on the end at the rear I believe. Not the end with the dowel for the cam sprocket. After market and regrinds engrave their name and profile number on theirs. Go to atlanticz's tech tip page and under ENGINE it has a cam chart. I'm thinking the C from a 260 is the better one and very rare. Fuel injection requires a different profile from what all I've read. Your N47 is a B stamped cam I'm pretty sure. A mirror and a flashlight will tell for sure.
  13. Now that looks good! Makes me mad I didn't chose Pontiac to begin with, oh well.
  14. Well crap, maybe next year.
  15. The perfect wiper blade for my 240 is the Trico #44-180. It's just the refills, 2 per pack for $6.99 at O'reilys.
  16. That's real close to what my Dupicolor Old Ford Blue came out like. The cap matched a lot better than the actual paint, it had some green in it (the cap) but when I painted the block it came out bluer. I call it Bud Lite Blue. Also thought about respraying with Pontiac Blue like Jarvo used. It's amazing how different your paint looks in the different pictures, lighting.
  17. That looks very close to my motor mount too. I'll get a picture up later when I'm home from work. Turquoise is a good descriptive.
  18. You might get the pulley of without removing the radiator if you used a pull bar and a socket instead of an impact wrench. I've not done that but it maybe possible?
  19. REPLY TO THIS TOPIC When you type out a reply/message look up top. And your right, it ain't easy be cheesy.
  20. Rent a car, jump a train, do something! I was really looking forward to meeting the man that's Madkaw, the V12 240Z guy.
  21. If you tap it even all the way around it should slide off. Use a rubber mallet or put some wood in between your hammer and the pulley, you'll knock a chip out for sure going metal on metal. Another thing you're going to have to do is pull the valve cover and put some vise grips or something similar on the cam to lock the motor while you loosen the crank nose bolt, 27mm socket for mine.
  22. That's the thing about being "good". It's a curse in a way, they ask me to do stuff, I do it the right way. They never stop asking me to do stuff. Same thing at my job, do something good, do it from now own.
  23. Click on the smiley face on the very top menu bar, right about in the middle, to the left of "My Media" My favorites,
  24. I'm going to stain it and put poly over that! Just teasing, but it does work. The 240 saw daylight for the first time since March.
