  1. Silk shirts are all the rage now thanks to El Chapo.
  2. "guessing isn't solving anything" we've been telling you that for two years. I guess you're not taking our help seriously.
  3. I've told you wrong. Below the two front spark plugs is where you'll find the head number. Sorry.
  4. I don't think you'll find a cap with brass contacts, mine are all aluminum looking, but the rotor buttons are brass. And they came from O'reillys or Advance like Zed Head says. They won't have them on their shelves but can get them overnight. Get some NGK plug wires and plugs when you can. Tons of information to be found on here but get ready to read through it all. Welcome to the forum, let's see that ZX! There's a great group of guys from Georgia on here.
  5. I got lucky and found one local to me for $350, no transmission. You should look above and in between the front 2 spark plugs and see what numbers are stamped on the head. Should be E88 or if you're lucky E31. It has the smog stuff still attached to the exhaust manifold so I'd guess it's out of a 1973, but it has the more desireable "3 screw round tops" carburetors from an earlier car, I believe. Probably has an E88 head. It would sell for $500 around my area but maybe more in Las Vegas? We have a member or two from there, maybe they'll see your post and be more help. Good luck!
  6. Have you had a bad day Zed? This isn't zcars.com I appreciate your help but come on now.
  7. How do we do that and how do we get to "More Reply Options" to cancel a post? Thanks for any guidance.
  8. It's a boy! Maybe I'll paint a few more things black?
  9. You are absolutely right.
  10. Wow, that was a serious wreck. I hope your wife is okay now. Cliff
  11. Well I feel a lot better and dumber after reading that. I pulled that cover the other day for nothing. 8 ( Thank you Zed Head. Lesson learned, the right lesson this time.
  12. Could it be the tranny insulator's rubber is worn or gone completely? When accelerating or decelerating the transmission could be banging around. Just a thought. I bought a new one from Nissan the other day, $65 plus tax. P/N # 11320-N3000
  13. There is definitely a difference in a 2.4 timing kit and a 2.8! All the parts stores show different part numbers for a reason I haven't figured out yet, but I will. I put a kit for a ZX on my 2.4, didn't compare the parts and threw them away before installing the new one I got with a car I bought a few years ago. Every time I turn the motor the shiny link moves to a different spot. The first time I noticed I pulled the front cover and reinstalled the chain on the right sprocket dimples. Today it has done the same thing. I'll be buying one for a 2.4. tomorrow. I'll read up and find the height differences between the block and the head. This sucks but lesson learned!
  14. I thought Clemson was the better team until the last of the fourth quarter. Y'all have one heck of a quarterback! They played hard until the last second, congratulations for a fantastic season! I'll share my Saban experience when I get to my laptop.
  15. Is probably what you think when you see this but DAMN what a game it was. Alabama 45, Clemson 40, not enough to too much.
  16. I learned what the term "lapping valves" means the hard way by not having the foresight you have. Carbon builds up on the valve seats and the valves causing them not to seal off, just like you said.
  17. Great talent as you've said. The first time I heard Let's Dance, I heard Stevie Ray Vaughn and was blown away. R.I.P David Bowie R.I.P SRV
  18. Mine was removed by the previous owner and my car ran great, maybe used a longer choke time in the colder months but hardly any choke at all in the warmer months. My understanding of that coolant line through the intake manifold was for extra heat for colder weather, about 2 months here in Alabama, probably never in Panama. There's an active thread going on now about that thermostat but those guys live way up in Canada where it's cold, really cold. For a vacuum test, if you have the right adapter (big) use the brake hose bung.
  19. Are you turning the mixture knobs CLOCKWISE until they are tight, towards the passenger's side? Then turning them COUNTERCLOCKWISE to loosen or lower them 2.5 turns, towards the driver's side, and they are too lean? So then you are turning them another complete turn COUNTERCLOCKWISE, towards the driver's side to richen them? The plug looks good enough to me considering they were black previously. Your number of turns seems to be too rich and I'm trying to understand why. Could you go to a auto parts store and borrow a vacuum gauge to get a reading? That would be useful information whether or not your engine has good vacuum or is worn. 17hgs on the gauge is good, less could be a clue as to your problems. The 2 hoses coming out of the firewall by the battery are being used for your air conditioner's compressor, right? That could only mean the coolant route has been changed, good or bad I don't know but the pictures are a big help. Maybe somebody will see something?
  20. Here's what I did for more air plus keep the critters from storing acorns in my filter box. It pulls a lot of air!
  21. When you make homemade ice cream you put salt on the ice to keep it cold. Why do they put salt on icy roads? We dumb-arse Southerners use sand.
  22. In hindsight, that doesn't surprise me. You're looking to blame someone for your problems. It's covered in the dvd but you call them anyway.
  23. He jumped in with me and we did a quick pub crawl. Great time! Our map was on a napkin, IIRC.
  24. Your float levels maybe off? Shipping empty float chambers cause the floats to bounce freely, bending their tangs. It's explained in the DVD.
