  1. That's Black Gold Man it'n it?
  2. Okay, you've changed my mind. The mosquito bites I'd get at the JY aren't worth the trouble. Thank You.
  3. par·a·dox ˈperəˌdäks/ noun a statement or proposition that, despite sound (or apparently sound) reasoning from acceptable premises, leads to a conclusion that seems senseless, logically unacceptable, or self-contradictory. "a potentially serious conflict between quantum mechanics and the general theory of relativity known as the information paradox" a seemingly absurd or self-contradictory statement or proposition that when investigated or explained may prove to be well founded or true. "in a paradox, he has discovered that stepping back from his job has increased the rewards he gleans from it" synonyms: contradiction, contradiction in terms, self-contradiction, inconsistency, incongruity;More a situation, person, or thing that combines contradictory features or qualities. "the mingling of deciduous trees with elements of desert flora forms a fascinating ecological paradox"
  4. There really wasn't any black Zs except the BP until the ZX, right? I've always told people that when they say they "know of an original black Z in a barn" story.
  5. Ha Ha! No, I was trying to be funny more than ironic in trying to convey that for me and you this is fun but for Mike it's work. I'm sitting here watching Married with Children, drinking coffee and waiting on my medication to ease in.
  6. Here's the whole thing for $19.00. https://zcardepot.com/electrical/switches-and-relays/antenna-adjustable-stainless-240z-260z-280z-280zx.html
  7. He's got me thinking about going out to the junkyard and finding a couple of tanks and cleaning them up and lining too. They are EFI tanks though but still, $200 to $250?
  8. $3,415!!! That's great. I might try Ebay for my '72. I've never sold anything on there. What would be your "take home" on that amount? Send me a PM if you have time and don't mind sharing that, please. Thanks. Cliff
  9. I only see that on the home page which is never. I have mine set to open on the 24 hour activity but to each his own, I guess. I bet Mike's life is busy with work and kids, he said before this was his pet project. Maybe he could pimp out your Z knowledge and do away with all the adds? Like everything now has a customer service pop up that get's in the way until you close it. "How can we help you, do you need any assistance?" Then it would go to you for a $25 an hour charge. "You are speaking with Zed Head, please wait.... Zed Head is typing....please wait....please wait...."
  10. I ordered just one, it was like $1.25 but when I went to get it he said I had to buy the hole pack. Of course I said "what the hell??" and he did say that was something new they have to do on non stocking parts. If he opened the pack for my one, the dealership would be stuck with 9 that would never sale. I think it's more the owner of the dealerships decision, I live in a small town. I'm gonna look for a top hat washer when I go after the oring tomorrow. I'll look for about 2 minutes in the Hillman drawers Lowes has, if I don't see one I'll shoot a little black RTV in there. Thank You!
  11. I haven't done mine yet but I'll smear some type of lube around the oring before I shove it back into the transmission. And I also appreciate the rubber washer alternative. I kept telling my parts guy that it looked like a top hat and he says "Nooo, no, nooo".
  12. Okay I see now. I walked my lazy arse downstairs.
  13. So where's the seal I bought go? In the cable end or the speedo cog? I've read where a guy put in a seal like I bought and it still leaked a little. He wrapped the threads with teflon tape and stopped it. Just curious, I'll see when I get under there. Thanks again for those numbers.
  14. I sure hope yours is what a bad one looks like. I just bought this one a week ago for $3.50 from my local dealership. It took a few days to get there from the DC in Irving Texas. The oring on the body, they wanted me to buy a pack of 10 so I had them send it back and I'll just get one from a hardware store. I'm planning on doing the swap this weekend and can let you know for sure. Thanks @Chickenman for the part number, he knew them right off, I didn't even have to look. https://www.google.com/search?q=32709-14600&rlz=1C1BOFA_enUS494US494&espv=2&biw=1280&bih=620&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjZgvW0-a7NAhXEKWMKHRbKBDIQ_AUICCgD#imgrc=_
  15. Hopefully your right but seeing the pile of tumbleweed behind the rear and the stains around it on the driveway I think it's been outside maybe with a cover. It's nice and shiny!
  16. That looks like a good car. I would buy it, sunroof and all. Somebody liked that car before it started running bad.
  17. I guess it's tough call for you. You probably don't have a lot free time judging by that little one hanging from your shoulders. 8^) If you could find one for a couple hundred dollars I'd buy another one. Your time is worth more than mine. You'll get burnt out fooling with small stuff. If it were mine I'd carry it to a muffler shop and see what it would cost to cut it in half and beat the dents out then weld it back up. Muffler guys weld more than anybody around here, and they're better at it too.
  18. Pictures would help but a running Z for $1,500 sounds good to me. I paid 1,400 for my '77 five years ago. Pulled the motor and rebuilt it also a new fuel supply, tank pump injectors just about everything. Runs great now after another $2,000. Are you able to spend at least another thousand? If so, buy it. If it's popping it has a vacuum leak most likely. If it won't stay running it has a fuel delivery problem. All the help you can stand is right here. It's like playing online chess trying to figure out problems with most folks on here. BTW, I always lose to the same 3 people. You know who you are!!!
  19. Aren't those the same as early ZX caps? Try zcarsource.com
  20. Deanna's like my new dog, he'd help drag the gas jugs back to the thieves vehicle. 8^)
  21. A motion light mounted to a wooden stob close to the Z, wired into an extension cord? Or my favorite,
  22. What did you do Captain, pee in their drinking water? I'm glad you made it away from there before the poo poo hit the fans. http://www.cnn.com/2016/06/15/us/orlando-tragic-week/index.html
  23. At least your nuts are clean.
  24. I'm reviving this thread, it's easy to understand and very useful to new SU owners. Thanks @Blue, I use this all the time (well not really, I've done them this way so many times now ) and recommend it to others as well.
