That'd be the only way I get in!

Try zcardepot.com he's probably got a Nissan. I bought one for my 240 from the local dealership. Metal on the exhaust side. Not positive if they have the EFI gasket? Seems like @gwri8 bought a Nissan for his '77.

Collection? That's an old junkyard. I've got the same thing 15 minutes from here. $500 will buy any of the cars.

    Happy birthday Jai!

What's considered an early car, where's the line? Manufactured in '69 or double digits, triple digits? Just curious. Thanks
  6. Mr Irwin makes them for other vendors but you can buy straight from him. Great customer service too. https://www.datsun-240z-upgrades.net/
  7. I got lucky and bought a 240 project car with a Tilton flywheel. 10#s I think. On my 2.4 it's a fantastic add on or off?. They are different for sure but once I get out of my driveway then neighborhood it's fun arse hell. It spins up like a motorcycle and I quit riding bikes when I found the Zs again. In my opinion a lightened OE would be nice but if you can't do that aluminum. Of all the things I've done and spent lots of money on the light flywheel is the best bang for the buck. I run the basic Exedy 6009 too, thanks to @LeonV. It works great with my set up. You'll shift a lot but with a nice exhaust sound it's great. EDIT: My Z is driven for fun on the weekends. If it's your main car in heavy traffic I'd send it off and get it to 15lbs. or more/less. They'll be more recommendations I'm sure, my expirences only.
  8. Hooverd off the web. They Elephant Oil were a big sponsor (like what Z Car Barbie posted) of the Datsuns in the rally series back in the day and the official reccommended lubricant for the car, although every(?) manual seen for US market cars listed Castrol for all three oils.

Too late but they have low profile jacks that would work. At least you get to spend more time jackin' it.
  10. That's a really nice Z! Good luck with the sale.
  11. I changed mine a couple of months ago and loosened the two bolts before the hardline, mistake. Loosen the brake line first. It's easy, 15 minutes per side?? Good luck.
  12. Half arse installation would be my guess for your "hassle". As with many of your problems, get it done quick isn't the proper method.
  13. 16s on a 240 I had with stock suspension wasn't my cup of tea. For my current one I do run 15s, keeps the car low without spending a fortune on suspension parts. 15s...
  14. From MSA. Just saw they have a free shipping deal and $100 off those satin Rewinds too. http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/classic05a02/25-1211 Tire Sizing:The maximum tire size you will be able to fit on your Z will vary significantly depending on many factors, including things like the current ride height (or amount of spring sagging) and condition and type of springs and shocks, body kit components, coil over suspensions, fender flaring, and other factors. Most stock 70-78 setups should use the most common size, a 205/55/16 for proper clearance, while an early Z with certain types of Coil Over Suspensions and Fender Flares could go to the tire manufacturer maximum size of 245/50R16. 79-85 ZX's generally have more clearance, so a larger size will often be just fine (for instance, the Motorsport 280ZX runs 225/50/16 tires). Your Z or ZX may fall somewhere between those. If your goal is to use a larger size than 205/55/16 on a 70-78, we recommend you bring your car to a qualified tire technician to check clearance on your particular setup (all good shops know how to do this). As always you can give our sales technicians a call at (800)633-6331 with your questions.
  15. Mine was broken too. It's part of the EGR system which I deleted, we don't have emission tests in Alabama. @Av8ferg might have found a new replacement from rockauto.com, I can't remember though but he'll see this and hopefully can help you. Welcome to our forum. You'll get all the help you can stand from these guys here. Post up some pictures when you can, we really like that "Z porn".

    My hero is gone!
  17. here's one of my favorite orange and black 240s. Hard to tell if the trim is black though???
  18. I've used old tennis shoes before, worked great, flip-flops would work good too.
  19. There's not an easy way if they're stuck. ? Make sure the E-brake is off and tap around the fins with a rubber hammer, or a sledge if it's bad. The adjuster can be accessed through the drum with a skinny screwdriver after removing that rubber plug if you have the OE drums. Some aftermarket don't have that. I think you turn it down to loosen? The thing with the teeth. That hole in the bottom of this picture, rotate the drum until you see the teeth. Good luck. Big hammer is the easiest way.
  20. I thought you had internal engine problems? I'm a month or two behind.

Have those not been put on a Z yet? They look neat. Thanks for posting that pic. Never seen those before.
  22. I'm not positive but I'm going to say it WAS fun to drive. I think he bought some bad gas.
  23. Why does it hurt when I pee?
  24. Me too. Here's grannyknots M6 240Z.
  25. The trim around the windows is stainless steel, spray painting it would be a pain and seems like it would scratch off real easy. here's member @madkaw blacked out 240. He might chime in with some tips on that.
