Curious about the bungee cord from the brake pedal to the steering wheel. What's the purpose of that? Thanks. Cliff

I've had the same problem. Getting the weight distribution even is a pita. See if you can get a jack on the tranny and get the weight off then some stiff putty knives or chisels or tire spoons or screwdrivers and work around it till it pops loose. Good luck.

The best $20 I've spent on a Datsun is this book, I'd never built a car motor before but the way he wrote it and the pictures plus some helpful tips and tricks I built the first one by myself. I went with a Xenon front air dam and the smaller bumper on my 280. Looks good to me. Before and after terrible pics but it's all I have right now.

I have thought the same, Captain. Having both I think it's the weight difference. The steering wheel on my 240 also seems bigger which makes turning seem easier. My $.02.

I bought mine from futofabmcom on a black friday or cyber monday?? sale. That was the best deal for me as I live on the east side and shipping was cheaper than the left coast guys at MSA. The front bumper is an easy swap, the rear is a PITA according to what I've been told read on here. Eurodat is the man you need to google. that's what I bought from my local dealership, 11121-E3001. I paid $14.76 tax and all on 09/16/2015. Works great, no leaks just be really careful torquing it down. Not much at all, I had to use an inch pound torque wrench. Oh yeah, I used golf tees in all the pan's holes to keep it lined up while placing the small bolts in. FYI

You're picture is where the side pillar round vents go. Google image series one and two. You'll see the difference.

I bought on of these at Lowes for a couple of bucks, 2" cap for the end of the transmission. I also used it when cleaning the transmission as seen below. Cheap oven cleaning foam from Walmart and a pressure washer. Worked very well.

Cover the rear of the tranny where the drive shaft slides out with something. Plastic bag tapped up good will work. If not the fluid will spill out. And the old wd-40 cap over the hood holder latch trick is helpful too. Good luck.
