  1. I saw one over the weekend that was made from a valve cover. It was very cool. I wish I would have taken a picture of it.
  2. Took third place, 1st generation, stock, at the Midwest Heritage Z Show.
  3. WOW!! I never knew that hook was there! I have a Series One car with a completely original interior and I have never seen this hook until today after reading this post. I went out to the garage, and sure enough, I have the hooks. Cool. Now my seat belts won't hang out the door!
  4. Do you mean LeMans Sunset orange? It is a Nissan color. http://www.google.com/search?tbm=isch&source=mog&hl=en&gl=us&client=safari&tab=wi&q=nissan%20350z%20lemans%20sunset%20orange&sa=N&biw=320&bih=356#p=0
  5. Over the weekend our club went to Mid-Ohio to enjoy the vintage races. We met at a rest area... Hung out at the track... And even got to take a few laps during lunch... It was a good weekend.
  6. Just to clarify the dates, the main show is on Saturday the 7th. Sunday the 8th is a track day at Mid-Ohio, but I believe it is sold out.
  7. I'll be there setting up on Thursday, at the cruise-in on Friday, but unfortunately, I have to attend a conference on Saturday. I may leave my car there in the capable hands of my ZROC friends. I might be able to make it back for the awards ceremony.
  8. Johnny, you are not going to like my answer... Not long after this post, I dropped my timing light and it broke. Not wanting to dive into the potential repairs to the crank pulley, harmonic damper, etc., I started adjusting the timing by simply listening to the engine, adjusting the timing and tweaking it until it ran smoothly and responsively throughout the rpm range without any detonation. It's been running nicely ever since and I have no idea what the timing "looks like" on the notches. (A valve adjustment also went a long way towards smoothing out my rough running.)
  9. That 110 Red is a bit lighter than my 905 Red, which still looks a bit orange out in the sun. ...And since we are showing paint booth photos...
  10. Very nice, Chuck. I don't think you should put the bike rack on it. :classic:
  11. Can you smell gas in the engine compartment? You may want to replace the fuel filter? It might be cracked.
  12. until

This year's Midwest Heritage Z Show is being held as a "Show within a Show" as part of the Arthritis Foundation Classic Auto Show and Cruise In. This year the show is being hosted by ZROC in Dublin, Ohio (a suburb of Columbus). Trophies, Food, Fun, Live entertainment including the Van Dells. Plan to join us. Register today here.
  13. I got one that was in stock at NAPA.
  14. Nice find, Alex.
  15. Great looking car. It still makes me a little sick when I see #721 in your signature line. I'm glad you made it out of that accident in one piece, and now you've got a great "new" z to begin a whole new story with. Have fun!
  16. Engine bay patina... It took 42 years to get this look!
  17. Looks pretty nice for a car from up north. I think there is some value to a nicely restored low VIN car, but I think it is more important that you make it the car YOU want it to be. Just be sure to save all of those original parts (including those hubcaps) for the future owner.
  18. Sounds like a great Easter drive. We had a bunch of relatives over for Easter dinner and I ended up taking several people out for rides including my parents who are in their 80s. My mom said it brought back memories of riding in my first 240z with her back in the 1970s. She said she still remembers that it was much easier to get in and out of than my Triumph GT6 (that I also owned in the '70s).
  19. Welcome aboard. Photos?
  20. Product reviews are here. http://www.classiczcars.com/reviews/ You can get there from the home page "main image" with the smaller images on the left. It is the bottom small image.
  21. Today I removed a nasty mouse nest from my heater/blower housing. The car was stored for many years by the original owner before I got it two years ago. I had removed one of these nests from the glove compartment and another from one of the side vents, but I still kept smelling the mouse "residue" on long drives. (I only drive the car in nice weather so I never use the heat.) So, today I pulled the blower out. What a mess! I'll let the pictures tell the story... The blower box... Behind the dash above the heater core. This was packed solid... Is it any wonder that my blower motor did not work? And after cleaning, wire-brushing, sanding and painting... The motor actually works again!
  22. I replaced two leaky hoses that carry coolant through the intake manifold. I took the car for a test drive on a nearby twisty road. Coming towards me in the opposite direction was a big Chevy pickup truck driving too fast for this road. He went off the road on the right, over-corrected, slid across and off the road on the left, swerved back onto the road back into his lane and regained control. By this time, I was nearly stopped as he drove past me. I am really glad that I had not been driving faster which would have put me in harm's way. Visions of "Frank in Houston's" scary and sad accident last week went through my head. Ugh.
