1974 Datsun 260z won't start
The original cables you posted pictures of are actually very special wires. They act like fuses, if you pull too much current they melt to protect the rest of of the harness. If you replaced them with heavy gauge wire and spade connectors then you transferred that overcurrent into the harness. It is possible you made a bad situation worse...

Building a car cart
Look in my "Lily" thread to see my spray boot. .4 mil poly and some 2x4's, an exhaust fan. Good to go. You will get better results inside the garage than outside. Also it would probably be better for you to be discrete considering where you live...

Drum Brake Adjuster - '77 280
You could buy some of the Eastwood rust removal solutions and soak it in that and it will come out as clean metal...

Who did the chrome and polish work? They both look really good!

Not mine: 1970 240Z
#0509, pretty low. Be interesting to see if any one thinks it's worth 23k. It seems to have some rust so some pictures or the more rust prone areas would be good.

Sold my 1970 this wk, values trending??
To patch the hole you really need a donor panel or someone with a wheel because the panel is curved in 2 directions. The roof skin is really thin and it would be hard to avoid distorting it. The best fix is to just re-skin it but that means removing glass, exterior chrome, interior trim, etc. It is a lot of work as there are probably 150 or more spot welds that have to be drilled out. $4500 seems high but I bet a shop would have close to 100 hours in it by the time it's done.

the valve train looks modified too. Might want to check lift and duration on the cam. It may be toast from corrosion but the base circles look smaller than stock...

510 signal problems
We took the bulbs out on the drivers side entirely. So that should eliminate an issue of the wrong bulb in the wrong socket. There was a duel filament bulb in the taillight. You know, we had the signals sorted after you came up the last time and now they don't work. My assumptions were: bad signal switch, bad hazard switch or bad grounds. I had thought I would unplug the signal switch and jumper the left turn signal and see if works correctly to try to narrow down the problem...Any issue with that?

I emailed David Here is the response I searched all dealers, and there are no dealers having them on their shelf. Sorry, we can not get them. My Response: Thanks anyway. Is there a way to suggest to Nissan they need to make a run of bushings the way they do for lower control arms? Thanks, Charles The answer: Seems like it is random how Nissan decides to stop making a part. Some parts are still being produced, like wiper blades and interior rivets. In general, parts for the S30's are getting scarcer and scarcer each time I check. S130's are the worsts as far as parts availability. Does anyone here have some connections at Nissan who could try to get this part number on a list so they will make a run of these? Maybe the larger rubber washer's too...

Black is a hard color to do because the metal work has to be spot on. Black with red interior could be cool, I can't image white will stay pristine for long. If you're gonna sell it, a factory color combination is probably the wisest

I have Fairlady S30-01036...need some advice
Beautiful place. Love the live oak and the slide. The water has to rise a lot to get over the wall much less to add 7' of water to the yard!!! I don't know that you noticed but I live in the upstate. I had a few friends that got hammered the last time we had all the flooding in the low country.

Hybridz.org is "For Sale"
I agree with some of the others. Tony D can come across badly at times, but I believe some of that happens to be the limitation of the forum as a medium. As I have seen the same happen here at times. He is very knowledgeable and has years of experience. There is a wealth of information on the site and much of it is very good and very technical. It would be a shame to loose that. I don't visit there much any more unless I am looking for something very specific because they can be quick to flame noobies or those that don't exhibit some level or having searched for the answer first. Derek's siamesed head is only one of many examples of the amazing info there, custom intakes designed with flow software, brake upgrade FAQ's, etc.,etc. That site fills a different need than this site but they are both full of valuable information

Beautiful collection! Love the selection of Porsche's. I suspect your estimate was low and you appear to live near the coast since your house is elevated. Be sure and keep them all properly insured against flood damage. It would be a shame to see them get damaged and then take the financial hit too...

510 signal problems
Well this is where we're at: With everything plugged in, in left turn all the exterior lights blink but only the left turn on the dash blinks. We unplugged the front left turn signal, both rear brakes lights still flash when the stalk is on left turn, but the left turn still blinks properly With the front signal unplugged and the left rear bulbs removed the right turn still blinks in the left turn position. If the brake is pressed in any of these positions the brakes lights quit blinking and become solid

NLA, very hard to find NOS parts. I am hoping one of the larger vendors or even Nissan themselves will make a limited run of these. The last set I bought came out of Japan
