  1. Bondo is not gonna add any strength!!!! Fiberglass maybe, but not much. The real strength in the roof comes from the perimeter frame not the roof skin.

That was the point of my question. If the details of the application are the problem, contact Dave directly and see if he will make one correct for your application. I think he has done this in the past if you supply the connectors...
  3. Red7 That's a great looking car!
  4. My thoughts on the registration went like this. It was my understanding the rooms were $20 cheaper a night with the registration, for me that's $40. Then the meal at the banquet is what $20 or more. Then the shuttle another $20 or so, allows me to not worry about transportation or whether I can drink or not. Then that really cool T-shirt. So that was about $80 plus the shirt plus any other perks I don't know about. Also I look at it this way the registration goes to furthering these events and making them possible in the future and I am ok investing in that.

Why do you not want the MSA unit?
  6. CO I am still unsure. If we go it will only be for Fri and Sat and yes we will be Z-less. The car I have been working on and is almost running is too far from being trip ready to get done in time. I am self employed and have picked up a ton of work in the last two weeks and will be wide open during that time. It may be hard to get away but the break might be welcome. I would like to meet y'all in person and this is pretty close to me. It looks like the block of rooms will only be held until June 19th so I will shoot for that as a final decision day. I am unsure about registering, money is tight but the shuttle to downtown and the meals might make up for the costs. Don't know how much not registering will restrict access to things...
  7. I have a very similar philosophy. I like some of the modifications people do to Z cars. I think a well done RB26 is really cool and can make incredible power but I like to see those cars built out of less desirable cars or cars that need significant repairs or have already lost their drivetrains. The better well preserved cars and the lower number cars should remain original or bolt-on mods only. Of course this is only my opinion and everyone tends to have one...
  8. I have a question, possibly dumb question. The tread appears reversed in the two pictures. Which way is correct?
  9. Dry ice is a great idea! I would solder it myself with dry ice. Wash it 2 or 3 times, leave it out in the sun one day. Dry ice and a soldering torch the next.
  10. Site, See what happens when you have too much beer with deck building...
  11. Hopefully it tests out good...
  12. Much better numbers. I would think with the first numbers you had the car would have barely moved
  13. moelk, I have an unusual question. Can you actually see anything in the mirrors when they are mounted so far forward? I have often wondered whether they are functional at all in that location.
  14. The suggestion was good. I wasn't picking on it just had concerns about how it would hold up or unforeseen consequences.
  15. Mike, Thanks for the links. I would buy the intake today if I had the extra cash. I saved the listing. You would think if the filters were suspect the two guys with GT40's wouldn't be running them...
  16. L28's on car-part.com There are 8 in PA alone most of the engines in the query are $200-$500. Many are "$Call"
  17. Yeah, I didn't think it would be a problem either. I guess the largest forces on the welds are them trying to rotate from braking or acceleration. With the whole circumference welded it aught to be fine.
  18. I would do it this way also ^^^^^^^
  19. The pick up tubes are soldered into the tank. If it was mine I would take it to a radiator repair shop and see if they would clean it and solder in a new pickup tube. You may have to source the tube for them. I would be afraid to try and patch the tube for fear of restricting it.
  20. How did you go about purchasing this manifold exactly? I have tried looking some in Japan but the language is quite the barrier for me. Also where did you source the airhorns and filters? I like those too. The setup looks great and very clean. I like all the braided hose.
  21. Will that keep it from oxidizing? How often do you have to reapply it?
  22. Maybe at some point. Way down the list though...just getting educated.
  23. Still looks good though. Are you going to protect it with something?
  24. So you have some spare voltage. I have a 210 amp welder. I wasn't sure your welds were penetrating as much as they could. I would have probably turned it up a bit but I don't think you will have an issue. Most of the load on the strust is compression. I like to be sure my welds burn in a little more around the edges. If you look at the welds in "Careless's"?? thread his puddles lay down a little more. He is TIGing I believe but the same principle. When I see them sort of bead up like water on oil I add some heat.
