  1. Do the carburetor float bowls fill? That's the objective. You can have a bubble in the filter and still have plenty of fuel passing through it. People get distracted by the bubble in the filter often. It might not matter. There are some recent threads about it.
  2. NSFW. A common sense video. Where I found it - https://www.theguardian.com/culture/2020/apr/24/vic-dibitetto-coronavirus-rant-video-interview

This is probably what "opening" up and going back to work looks like. The places that never closed, the essential companies. Open, get infected, shut down, do it over again. https://komonews.com/news/local/tyson-foods-pasco-meatpacking-plant-suspends-production-amid-pandemic
  4. I think that main problem is that a bigger cam is designed to flow more air at high RPM, which requires more fuel than the factory system is designed to provide. So you end up with the dilemma of tweaking your system, through the AFM spring or an adjustable FPR or bigger injectors, to provide the fuel the cam needs at high air flow, causing rich running at lower air flow rates, or leaving it tuned to run well at low air flow rates and go lean at the high end. Basically, there will be a range of throttle position and RPM where it will run like crap. But it might make more power.

It feels good to laugh at it though. These really are incredible times.

It's testing and tracing that's the key. And it's been shown to work in other more developed countries than ours, like South Korea. That's what I mean by a plan. The idea that people will be free to toss the social distancing guidelines is false. But, I do agree on stalling. But I think that it's political stalling. There is only one singular goal at play here, and it doesn't involve a healthy American society. We're all pawns. The stalling will continue until the death numbers get mind-numbing, At 50,000 deaths total, what's another 500 or 1000 per day? 2%? Who cares!? They're old!

Progress, maybe. Not sure why they imply it's just Jersey. https://www.politico.com/states/new-jersey/story/2020/04/23/rutgers-saliva-based-covid-test-could-be-key-to-unlocking-new-jerseys-economy-1279421

To the beaches everyone! “Medical doctors,” should see “if there any way to apply light and heat to cure”, the president said. He asked Dr Deborah Birx if that’s possible. Fevers are the body’s way of apply heat to treat itself, but she hasn’t heard of it being used as a treatment, she responded. “It’s just a suggestion,” Trump said. “If heat is good and if sunlight it good, that’s. a great thing as far as I’m concerned.”

From what I saw, again, today in the grocery store, people in general do not understand aymptomatic transmission. So, it just takes a few asymptomatics to start a whole new outbreak. People keep using the word "open". Another failure of the message from the leaders. All people really want is a plan that they can understand. Trump's pseudo science doesn't help at all.

It gets better... The DHS’s Bryan is asked about the president’s suggestions that disinfectants be injected into a person. “We don’t do that within our lab,” Bryan said. “Maybe it works, maybe it doesn’t work,” Trump interjected — but disinfectants like isopropyl alcohol definitely has an effect on “stationary objects.” Note: If you are not a stationary object and are, in fact, a person, please follow medical advice and do not inject disinfectant into your body

The Scientist-in-Chief muses... From the briefing report on TheGuardian.com. Tanning beds for anyone who needs one. “Supposing you brought the light inside the body - either through the skin or some other way,” Trump wondered. He also mused about ways to use disinfectants on people, “by injections inside or almost a cleaning.” “It’d be interesting to check that,” the president said. “You’d have to use medical doctors.” 3m ago23:17 The DHS has worked with Johns Hopkins to test how the virus in droplets of saliva and respiratory fluids survives at different temperatures. The virus survives best indoors, in dry conditions. UV rays and hotter, more humid temps cut down the halflife of the virus. 7m ago23:13 Both Trump and Mike Pence have referenced research that the virus will fade in warm weather. The president said “you won’t even believe” how the virus reacts to sunlight. Preliminary studies, which have not been peer-reviewed, indicate that warm weather could slow the virus. Some researchers think that some Southeast Asian countries, like Cambodia and the Philippines, were spared larger outbreaks because of their hot, humid climate. But there have several outbreaks in other warm areas. The science is far from conclusive on whether the virus is seasonal. Bill Bryan, who heads the science and technology directorate at Department of Homeland Security, is presenting more information on how the virus reacts to heat, humidity and light.
  12. The 3.54 and the wide ratio is the factory combination for the 75 to 78 280Z coupes. Here's one of many calculators out there if you want to see where you might end up. Tire size matters too. 5th gear would be 0.864 for the wide ratio. https://www.crawlpedia.com/rpm_gear_calculator.htm
  13. You can watch the car's voltmeter to get another clue. It will drop down to battery voltage or lower, from charging voltage, before the relay clicking starts. You might find that while driving with some electrical things on, like blower motors, or AC, or sound, that you always drop to battery voltage at a stop. That's not good. Your brake lights draw might be enough to put too much load on the system, so you don't see it while testing in the garage. The reman alternators are kind of notorious for low output at idle RPM. Dim lights at idle, weak windshield wipers, and other problems are common with the Z's. I ended up with a wrecking yard 280ZX alternator on my car that was better then the OReilly Auto Bosch reman. You said you got 13.45 charging, which is actually a bit low. I got 14.3 with mine.
  14. At first glance it looks like some sort of kinky S&M bondage thing. Not an expert.
  15. So you can make the brake light stay on by doing that? If you turn the key off and start from scratch does the light stay on? Or do you have to do the whole process over again? Sounds like a stuck relay. Letting the engine almost stall "unlocks" it and it gets stuck where it shouldn't be. Since you know where it is you might try the old tap tap tap bang bang test. Bring a tool and give it a few raps when the light stays on.
  16. Use the magnet on the inside. One of those telescoping picker upper thingies.
  17. Not all of the spindle pins require a puller. If you're going to replace with new then you can beat the old one out. A long 5/8" bolt works well as a drift. sometimes they slide right out, from what I've read.

They're saying that heavy smokers aren't getting as sick when they have the virus as much as non-smokers. I wonder if you can start smoking after you test positive? “Our cross-sectional study strongly suggests that those who smoke every day are much less likely to develop a symptomatic or severe infection with Sars-CoV-2 compared with the general population,” the Pitié-Salpêtrière report authors wrote. “The effect is significant. It divides the risk by five for ambulatory patients and by four for those admitted to hospital. We rarely see this in medicine,” it added.

  20. That seems about right. Are you sure that the Charge light does not come on when the key is turned to On?
  21. That would be good to know. Do that with the engine not running, just to see if the circuit through the alternator is good.
  22. I notice that you said "on the blue wire", not on the alternator terminal that connects to the blue wire. Not sure what exactly you measured. Probably a good time to put a check list together showing each thing that you did and the results. There's quite a few actions and results in the thread now. A list will make things clear.
  23. With the tube and the funnel you can just do a FBT. Fast Brain Transform.
