  1. Hi Terje! Nice pictures! Im glad we have one more Z in scandinavia! I welcome thee to join our annual Japanese car expedition http://www.finnjae.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=17&Itemid=33 Last year there were about 10 cars from Norway, i think you'd fit in just perfectly. If you want to know more, let me know.
  2. I got new carpets+padding in my cabin. Also soundproofed half of the car. But if you replace all the bearings etc, sound should go away? OT. for some reason i cannot write to HybridZ forums, even i have working account..
  3. I've been offered R200 (from Laurel) with 4.11 gearing and R180 with tail lock (right word?) Prices were too high so i refused. But if i manage to get "new" R180, how can i know is it the same kind of screamer as my current one? I've been looking the FSM and rebuilding seems a bit tricky..
  4. Yes, bearings. There was a whole lotta options. But if anyone has full list of what i need, it would be appreciated.
  5. Nice looking z. What are the size of yer wheels?
  6. I found some parts in Rockauto.com but i dont know about the diameters. Can anyone give me a list of the parts needed and diameters..?
  7. Is there any way i can rebuild that R180 i currently have?
  8. Hmm. I have brand new fuel pump and all the other accesories. But still my z takes time to start. And i have no-points dizzy too.. + my starter engine runs twice faster than the original. Only thing that i havent renew is the plug wires. But when warm, it starts faster than lightning, which is nice.
  9. Well, i got to admit i was like that once. Rushing to internet asking n00b questions before doing anything. But that's the name of the game today...hope it changes someday.
  10. Well.. i spent 1400$ on mine, which had new paint job and tons of extra parts. But once again, its up to you. 1500 is too much for busted z imho.
  11. If it has been hit, i'd pass it. IF you have the extra time and MONEY, maybe then. But pictures would help. Also may i ask the price?
  12. Thanks for quick reply guys. My Z is imported from CA in 2009. So 3.36 is the best option for factory 4 speed? I dont want to autocross, im more cruising kinda guy. Maybe occasionally i race against some BMW guys in traffic lights but thats it As said before, my current one is noisy and im good if i only get it silenced. BUT also if possible, im looking to get little more out of this nice car.
  13. Using THIS(http://webspace.webring.com/people/cz/z_design_studio/) calculator it seems that the R180 differential gives the maximum speed with normal 4 speed tranny...
  14. Im planning to change the diffy in my 72 and as being a total rookie in this kind of business i ask thou help. If i happen to get R200 (lets say 3.9) is it plug-and-play change or do i need to change other parts as well? My current (R180) is quite loud and it might need rebuilding. R200 just popped in my mind, as some say its the best option if looking to improve the car.
  15. So the knob aint down but the door is locked? And you can lock it outside but not unlock? The door locking mechanism is busted somehow, download Factory Service Manual, remove the door panel and tell us what you see. I had to fight with my doors too.
  16. Mine only whine when cold (shims on). Rockauto offers all the brake parts for very reasonable price!

A tip from the land of the ice and snow: undercoat. All the cars are undercoated here, except the new ones. Also remember to wash your car often, at least once a week. Especially fenders and underside are important to wash properly. Most popular cars here are japanese and we have no choice but to drive em no matter what weather.
  18. That's a beauty. By the way, for you all 510 wagon lovers: first ever made (vin nr #1) 510 estate is located here, in Finland. It was on sale recently, a bit rusty but otherwise in ok condition. http://www.nettiauto.com/datsun/1600/4190397
  19. It is possible to do without taking the dash out. Im restoring my blower and other heating related components. But you need to remove the console, which aint that bad.
  20. Price seems cheap but i have seen the product with my own eyes and it is good quality
  21. Youre reading it right :I
  22. I want to go on to that road!
  23. Did you smell them? They could be wet from the gasoline.
