  1. seriously, if you have stuff that you want to have cleaned up and have no time, gather things together like, control arms, brackets, etc and drop it off. the sandblast cabinet is in the basement opposite the workbench so it effortless to get rid of a couple high lifes and sandblast stuff.
  2. larry, i'll drop you a line for sure, however the shop is raging! thomas and I want to drive our cars to the warnock Z show.
  3. hehehehehe =). we picked up 2 of those HF 750 lb engine stands, as well as a 2 ton folding engine hoist, sandblast cabinet and a 12 ton press.....along with the bearing driver and seal kit and a host of hand and air tools....air shears, disc sander, blah blah blah. Since the GF has moved out the garage is getting scary. The 76 is now on a 45 degree angle up on the bench. The 260 is on the rotisserie and the basement is an official legitimate parts department. As for those 750 lb HF stands....thomas and I had a bracket fabbed up which holds a very large oil drain pan under the motor to catch any oil/anti freeze and works great for catching parts before they fall into the abyss known as the floor. The Z motors do bounce around a little bit and you have to go to the hardware store to get longer bolts as the tranny ones are not long enough to sufficiently hold the motor up. Also, be sure to remove your clutch and flywheel prior to sticking it on there otherwise the fingers will not fit. I would recommend making a longer handle too as its a little cumbersome to spin the motor over. One other thing too....we are most likely going to drill the outer housing and install a zerk fitting to make lubing the assembly easier.
  4. I'll post detailed pics of the car perhaps monday. No I didn't end up getting it, however another friend of mine did who I will be seeing this sunday so if its delivered by then, I'll have the camera in hand and will shoot away.
  5. Yeah Baby!!!! lets get the jersey Z chapter rolling along. There are three of us here locally. Myself, I live in blairstown NJ, northern NJ larry and back2Z's are also within spitting distance. Together we represent a diverse collection with a 71 240, early 74 260, (2) 76 280's a 78 280, and a 78 280 2+2. Feel free to drop me an email or a PM. we're always up for shooting the breeze and lending a hand with projects.
  6. alleviates heating, beating and swearing. I love the 12ton press that now lives in the shop

tomohawk...actually that list is the archive I have of all live concert recordings I own. I have personally recorded almost 400 concerts on my own. No need for compilation discs. Simply pick a show you want to listen to and relive history!!!

  13. well thats a releif. No more tossing the idea around for me. I have more than my hands full in Z land thats for sure
  14. keith, re-reading that aspect of no title....man, thats a tough one. Theres nothing worse than restoring it, and then you can;t drive it because you can't title it
  15. too bad she's in indiana. I'd pick this thing up in a hearbeat. I could certainly shift some things around in the garage and get this on a rotisserie until I had some other projects out of the way. certianly no harm in it sitting inside while it waits for the proper care it needs.
  16. yeah this thing was about as swiss cheese as you can get. Def the worst one I have ever seen as well. Scary thing is that this one was already restored years ago. Perfect example to the newbies attempting crappy and inappropriate repair methods of what can happen. Only you can prevent this from happening to your Z car!!!
  17. that things an arizona cream puff in comparison to what we end up with here on the east coast.

  19. wouldn't you also need to use the radiator from the automatic as well to run the fluid coolant lines?
  20. I would check chloe at midwest Z first. She may either have one used in good condition or one new and her prices are extremely reasonable. All I the business I have done with her has been nothing but extremely pleasing. MSA and victoria british also carry these pieces as well, however I would check www.midwestZ.com first.
  21. FWIW, I once used a ZX radiator in my 280. I found it in a car in the boneyard however it was brand new.. I pulled it out and had a guy at the yard remove the mounting brackets on the side of the ZX radiator and remove and replace the ones off of my 280 and put them on the ZX radiator. worked like a charm.
  22. makes you think that what we are doing is childs play in comparison to someone literally making their own car. absoultely amazing craftsmanship.
  23. they're all out racing! saw this on Zcar.com Z Chicks
