  1. That fiat is a very nice looking car. I don't blame you. I am planning on selling my silver Z and getting a 1600 roadster. It's the car I went through high school and college with. Really looking forward to having one again.

  4. Check out e-bay for some RB25DET turbo's. $3K for a used one delivered to your door, includes 5 speed trans. That sounds like a sweet set-up.....may do that one of these days.

  7. He mentioned a number of items: ( I write these as best I understood them) He spoke about the rear hatch hinges. He was mentioned that some of the earlier designs were not as 'clean' as the final design, which has the hinges essentially hidden. He said the gas strut for the hatch was innovative. Other ideas were a torsion spring or coil spring to assist the lift. He said he should have pateneted the gas strut. It would have made him very rich . He mention the front bumber originally was supposed to have a rubber strip in the center section. Apparently this feature was deleted by management. He said they called the color known as 920 Safari gold, "Sahara Brown" or Safari Brown- not Gold. (it really does look more like a tan than gold). He spent a lot of time talking with the Japanese Nostalgic guys, at least a 30 min interview. JN also took a lot of pictures of him with my car and the Bondurant Z car. I can't wait to see what JN has to report. It really was a great event.
  8. Wow, what a great event! Really enjoyed speaking with Mr. Matsuo. He walked around the car with me and shared some of the design challenges on the 240. Just incredible! Was nice to have him sign under the hood. Also got the autographed charcoal. Very nice event, thanks for hosting this DHM.
  9. I had to laugh at all the debris under your cowl. I had the same exact thing on my '73Z. Took me about an hour to vacuum every thing out. Looked like the car swallowed a tree.

  12. Hi Frankie, Just a quick question, did you remove the light bulbs or disconnect the two wires that attach to the light housing (for the parking lights). Usually the problem is the housing. Also, when you hook the two wires back together, make sure the color is correct: black to black, and green with red stripe to green with red stripe. Typically, when I have had this issue, I disconnect all connections and attach them back together one by one. Best to use an ammeter if you have one, or observe the cars ammeter. When you see the high current, that the problem. If you have done this already, then maybe Dave can help some. I am not familiar with his system Hope that helps, Rich
  13. I am glad to hear that Colin helped you out on this. Personally, I am not so happy with him. Nissan/Colin used my ‘70Z for the Nismo 40th anniversary shoot and never even sent a thank you or pictures that I was promised. I was told by Colin that he would send proofs so I could forward them to my dad, but they never came. My e-mails were not answered and phone calls ignored following the shoot. So I gave up. The only pics I got were the ones I could garner from the internet. :disappoin
  14. There were actually two other tribute cars on e-bay recently. One had a white engine bay (and I knew the owner) and the other had a black engine bay and a host of other differences. This is is the third that I have seen and seems to have the nicest motor of the bunch. All nice looking cars.
  15. Well, finished up sanding on the '73 and it's off to Lance's shop for some 901 silver. Should have it back in a month or less. Now it's time to clean parts and get items ready for re-assembly. Saw this sticker on the back of a panel and don't understand a word it says. Looks like a man with four arms and a funky hat walking near his house.

  18. Best and safest way to remove oil pan with motor in is to remove the two bolts from the passenger side motor mount rubber. Raise the mount arm with jack approx 1" and slide a 3/4" block of wood in the gap. Lower and remove jack. This is all the space you need to remove oil pan. One concern I would have is that you removed the oil pump...did you remove the shaft that goes to the distributor? If you did, you will now face some timing issues. Get's tricky there. For the pan, first, double check all bolts are out. then I would tap the sides with a rubber mallet

  21. Some of my faves....I would give that hardtop jag best of show. Pics do not do the car justice. It was incredible. Amazing I got the picture of the Lexus. Crowd around it the whole time.
