  1. Sorry but the white Z in N.C. just got bought by a Richmond Z guy.
  2. Buy the green car, but please replace the front seat covers. While you're there take it around Road Atlanta!
  3. It fits on the front bolt of the passenger side motor mount.......your oil sending unit wire goes through it!
  4. Why didn't you buy Randy's 73 (MALLY002)? He sold a beautiful rust free 73 for $11,000 about a month ago.
  5. If I recall correctly, you'll need a 72 mustache bar, a 72 driveshaft, a 72 front diff mount and a 72 rear diff hanger. www.zbarn.com ask for Roger.....he sells the packages used.
  6. Come on down to the Richmond show in October. www.richmondzcar.com
  7. NAPA had 'em last week. Ask for brass plugs. Take the housing with you!
  8. So far all new hardware. We're gonna bead blast the valve cover next.

  10. The car is amazing with no stripes!
  11. Thanks so much for your help.....hope to meet you someday. I can't wait to put this new engine and clutch on the road. Guy
  12. Carl I'm getting a measurement of the TO collar (as described in your illustration) from my 77 5 spd approximately 28 mm. Have I got the right collar? Your info and knowledge of the Z always blows me away! Thanks Guy
  13. Carl The distance from flywheel to clutch fingertips (where the TO bearing would contact) is 1 3/4". Hope that helps. Thanks for your efforts. Guy
  14. I'll check the measurement tonight and let you know. Guy
  15. Nix the last question....Garrett at Motorsports said it's the 21-2122, so I ordered it. Thanks everyone so much for your help. Now I'm gonna put her together! Carl ....Brandon(my son) said you e mailed him re the orange 510. Let me tell you it's a screamer.....feels like Road Atlanta! Thanks for your help. Guy
  16. Carl Motorsports has a 21-2122 for the 75-78 coupe, 79-83 coupe non turbo, and 84-86 turbo.........they also have a 21-2123 for the 75-78 2+2, 79-83 2+2, 82-83 turbo, 84-89 non turbo.......which one of these two items is correct? Thanks Guy
  17. Thanks Mark......Glad the Brits like the Z's too!
  18. Bo I ordered the 83 turbo collar and it is very short (and as you mentioned doesn't work). I have a 77 5 speed tranny and the sleeve for it is longer than the 71 Z sleeve. I measured the height of the clutch finger tips (distance from the flat surface of the flywheel to the point of the clutch fingers that the TO bearing contacts). The 240mm pressure plate is actually shorter than the original 240z pressure plate. Wouldn't that mean that I need a sleeve that is longer (not shorter) than the 240z sleeve to reach the shorter pressure plate?
  19. Bo So what I am going to do is use my stock fork, my stock TO bearing and the collar for a 280z (non turbo non 2+2). You wouldn't happen to know what MSA part #, since different 280 non turbos call for different collars. I really appreciate evryone's help with this. Changing the clutch, flywheel and pulling the tranny is a job that I love to do only once! Thanks Bo and Stephen. Guy
  20. Bo So if I wanted to install the 240mm flywheel with a 240mm Exedy clutch and disc with my 1971 4 speed transmission........Could I use my stock fork, stock TO bearing and stock sleeve, or would I need to change any of my stock items? (ex. a different sleeve etc.) Thanks for your input. Guy
  21. How about if I want to hook the 240mm setup up to my 71 4 speed.......what fork and sleeve would I use in that case? Remember the slave cylinder is different on the 240z.....the plunger rod actually goes through the fork end.....could I use my 71 4 speed fork and sleeve, or would I need a new fork and sleeve, or just a new sleeve and the old fork? I'm getting all forked up. Thanks for your help. Guy
  22. I bought a 77 280 zx 5 speed......Will that fork and sleeve work? The last thing I want to do is have to pull the transmission cause of the wrong fork or sleeve. Guy
  23. Can anyone tell me what clutch fork and clutch sleeve can be used with the 240mm flywheel and clutch. I bought the fork and sleeve for the 82-83 turbo. If I install the fork and clutch sleeve with the stock TO bearing, will that combo work with my 71 4 speed or my 77 5 speed in my 71 240Z with the 240mm flyheel and clutch? The Nissan part numbers are 30531-po151 for the fork and 30501-k0404 for the sleeve (both are for the 82-83 turbo with 240mm flywheel)
  24. Thanks Frank.......The 510 is my son's....he's sick too! I can't wait to see a fresh coat of Safari Gold 2 stage PPG on the resto. Yours looks smokin' in gold.
  25. Me also Doug. Hmmmmmm 3 Zs 1 300ZX and a 510. Think I could talk my wife into it?
