  2. 06/09/2023 I was impressed with the email I received today. Braided hose kit at $380!!! https://resurrectedclassics.com/collections/rubber-plastic/products/datsun-240z-series-1-engine-hose-set-oem-style-braided-master-kit The only other place I could find these at was JDM @ $1100. https://jdm-car-parts.com/products/original-style-engine-bay-hose-set-for-datsun-240z?variant=831357009 I would have paid the $1100 when I got to the engine compartment in my restoration, but this is fantastic to see a competitor come in at nearly 1/3 the cost for these repro's!

  4. I think I found a better choice: https://www.amazon.com/CHERAINTI-Grill-Mat-Non-Stick-Resistant/ 16" x 70" (firewall insulator pad is about 15.5" x 52.75"), and looks very thin. Described as 0.2mm (seems off, but...). Good for up to 500 degrees and looks pretty tough. $15. I'll take some pictures when it is installed.
  5. Dave, It is the original voltage regulator that came with the car, so I should be able to adjust it. I think I have a Nissan OEM spare that I bought back in the '70s but now I have to find it! FYI, I just went out and measured the voltage at various engine speeds with a VOM that is probably more accurate than the gauge in the car and it seems that the voltage peaks out at 15.3V at 2500 rpm and above, I had 13.7V at idle (all with no load). At this point I think it is probably OK as long as I have some load on the system such as the fan or lights as that brings the voltage down to what I would think is a normal value. Thanks, John
  6. I will have to cut the stem where the pivot is attached to allow the mirror head to angle. Moving the mirror forward will not make any difference, as the mirror head angle is too far off for that to compensate. I still haven't had a reply from ZcarDepot. Basically, the mirror is junk since it is not fit for purpose.
