Everything is in.....new radiator, new 240mm clutch, new clutch master and slave cylinder and of course the 3.1 Stroker. I think there will be motor music in the garage tomorrow night. Just need to adjust the valves, add oil and fill the radiator. Can’t wait!

HI Marty....Actually, the SU’s drive my other Stroker (same set up) very well. I even got a wow out of Eiji when he rode in it this weekend. I do plan to dyno the car with SU’s to see how it does. Taking the air box cover off when I need a boost gives it a nice increase. The SU’s are so damned simple and efficient that it always makes me hesitate to go all out with triples, but I think it may happen on the green car after a good break in. Believe me, even with the SU’s, these engines feel like they want to “break something” when you really get on it! Guy

  4. So somehow I have 4 going at once. Been too busy to play on the forums much lately . 71 is my car , which is the continuous project. Did take first place at the Midwest Heritage show this past weekend ! 70 is sitting on the rotisserie sideways to make enough room for the 30k mile 77 that just showed up from Reno. Then there’s the 83 720 4WD that’s supposed to be my retirement truck. I probably have to retire just to finish it at this rate. Having fun juggling all this, but it s almost too much. Might have to give up my RR career to concentrate on the Z studio projects .
  5. We went to a car show last Saturday, and were awarded a Second in the Stock classification. This makes 5 trophies RedBird has won in 5 shows, I'm very happy we are doing so well. My Service Dog Lissa was with me, and RedBird was so shiney that she reflected the trophy and Lissa too. It was a great time again, altho awfully hot. We were indoors at least, and brought a fan which helped. We are regestered with ZCON, and Best Western for Oct. 19 & 20th. Hope to see many of you there. It will be so great to meet my online friends in person.?
  6. Thank you EuroDat. I'm biased too. My first 1971 Z was a Red 240, Redwing. I drove her 259,000 miles. Nothing like driving a red Z. Happy driving...

I find it interesting that you kept the SU's and the stock airbox on a 3.1 Stroker. What kind of HP are you expecting to get out of that setup? Did you ever consider going with triples? I know they add a lot of complexity, and I am not sure it is worth all the extra effort and expense. I ran a bored out L28 (probablly about a 2.9L) with SU's and the stock airbox on my '71 track car. It was a real strong performer. I never got a chance to dyno the car though in that configuration. The car is looking great Guy. Marty

  10. you've got like 16 weeks, better get going!
  11. Thanks @siteunseen and @psdenno for the nice comments. Also just want to mention that the DC color Dark Shadow Gray does have a small amount of fine metallic that can be seen in the sun, but after I applied the matte clear it is virtually unnoticeable.
