2 pointsWelding day yesterday... First we MIG'd the struts with a tack to get the right offset from the collars. I wanted a good clean bite for the stick welds. Then a solid bead around the collars. Next step, clean up the welds and paint the exposed metal.2 points

1 pointFound a couple of balance tubes in the carb bin. Thought I would try my hand a welding alum. They turned out OK, but if you look close you can see the fill area as the wire I used must be a different alloy than the original alum.

1 pointIf you google "George Lucas Cars", you'll see pictures of him with just about every type of car EXCEPT a Datsun - from Cobra to Tucker. He's definitely a car guy and thought he'd be a race driver and mechanic until he was almost killed in a accident in his Fiat as a high school kid. Gotta love the cars he chose for American Graffiti. With sizeoptimization i will end at 200$ for the preform and 100$ for the production. Now i started with the prototype (made with alu frame and rubber inserts to make the mold) I will see how it will look soon.1 point

I would be so all over that. We were looking a property up in NE Alabama, oh my there was a 40*60 climate controlled shop with what looked like at least 12ft ceilings. Get this there was a body shop and alignment shop down the street. I told her I can retire and go get an apprentice job a the body shop, rest of the time I will be in my shop. she can have the house to herself!1 point
