  2. FYI We requested permission to use the Datsun and Nissan logos on our car club hats, bags, shirts, etc. back in 2003. Nissan Canada kindly granted it to our club. Nice people there!
  3. Lookin GREAT!!! Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile
  4. Congrats FunkytownZ on your latest acquisition! Kudos to you for flying out and inspecting the car in person before buying it. Too many people (me included) have just trusted the seller, sent the money, only to have a load of disappointment dropped off by the shipping company. I think the color of your car is so different and the is so smooth that I would not put any fender flares on it. Just my .02 but I think you have a great looking car as is. We look forward to your updates!
  5. From Autozone: NGK copper plugs 2.19 ea X 6 = 13.00 Dist cap 15.00 Rotor 5.29 Plug wires: Duralast-23.00 NGK-50.00 The dist cap and plug wires can be much cheaper at Rockauto.com
  6. Perhaps one thing to look into is a pair of ramps. Maybe they will rub the front of the car but the rear might have enough clearance to back up onto them since you don't need the wheels off. Sent from my N9130 using Classic Zcar Club mobile
  7. Gotcha! That is INDEED dirty fluid.... can't top that BUT I can do you one better... This was the contents of my gas tank....
  8. second what ZH said. Plugs give an excellent insight as to what is going on in an engine. new ones in, drive around for a while, check and see how they look.
  9. I'm still in the full tune-up camp. It's the only way to figure out if anything else is a problem. Hoses definitely need replacement, especially the red one.
  10. Dude. Jai's not a dude. Those plugs are very fouled. I'd install new plugs, take it for a good drive, make sure it gets nice and warmed up, then pull them and see how dirty they are. Looks like it's running very rich though, unless you're burning oil. Does it use much oil? They really should never get that dirty unless there's a problem. A short test run on new plugs will give you a good clue though. tx is right about the leak. At least you know it's hose-based. Those are both low pressure hoses, one is 5/16" and I think that 3/8" works on the other. The 5/16" is a good fit, the other is a bit tight, if I remember right.
  11. Yeah you might want to swap it or check first if it is there. Just be careful when removing the bolts. Sometimes they can be finicky. If it starts to get hard to remove add a little lube and then tighten them back down. Then loosen them again. Nothing worse then a broken thermostat housing and even worse a broke bolt going into the head! (You don't have to remove the housing from the head, just the cover. That's just an FYI. )
  12. Actually, that's a sign that the thermostat is not working correctly. You might not even have one. The thermostat is designed to stop coolant flow until the engine heats it up. Normal temperature is about 180 degrees F.
  13. this is actually very helpful... i recently purchased a 78 with EGR deleted and have been wondering what changes were made compared to the stock setup. I had my head wrapped around it pretty well but this confirms it. my engine is similarly configured as the second picture, just a lot uglier (looks awesome, btw!)
  14. Here's one more welcome to the group - very nice looking car! If you have not already done so, look up the Cowtown Z Club on FB. Really a nice group of folks who enjoy fun things with their Z's.
  15. Here is an early 240z commercial. It has a Red Z with white wall tires, no OK sticker, and a single choke lever. Could it be a later showing of the red one from ARRC? HLS30-00008 Red Commercial.mp4
