    @Blue Ditto!
  2. Actually, the Canadian Screw was when I got the bill from Canadian Tire. I think I could have bought a whole new tire for what they charged for the repair. In all honesty however, I have to give big kudos to the tech that did the repair. The tech came walking out to pull the car into the shop, but when he saw it, he handed me the keys back because he didn't want to take the chance of messing something up. He also let me work the floor jack myself because I know where the jack points are. He asked what pressure I wanted in the tire and also allowed me to torque the lugs myself using his torque wrench. He was very respectful of the car and I really appreciated that. Only thing I didn't like was the cost.
  3. I was sitting at a stoplight a few minutes ago in my 240Z VIN #907 and heard a horn beep, looked over in the right lane and was asked if I wanted to sell the car. I remembered his car, I had pulled out in traffic just before him and pulled away a little. He asked if I wanted to sell it and I was reluctant but then asked how much and he offered $8,000. When I didn't seem interested he offered $11,000. I told him the car was special I would keep it. First stoplight auction I have been to. I have been driving this car in the summer over here on the West cost of California for various errands. Fun car to own.
  4. Be sure to set your alarm tonight. Dennis
  5. Blue, Captain Obvious - thanks for the great pics. It was a great ZCON - my first one and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I think our local Ontario chapter did us proud in the organization of the event. By far the best part was hanging with the fine gentlemen on this forum. So many good people from all over North America sharing a common love of the Z car - priceless. cheers

  11. Left handed Cobalt or Titanium drill bits are also a God send for removing broken studs and bolts. Spend the extra money and get high quality bitsl. And some cutting fluid... studs are usually very hard.
  12. Unless your car needs a lot of work, $11k is not even close...
  13. heh heh pretty funny I hadn't thought of that.

    FWIW... ZTherapy bakes their plated parts twice when doing carb rebuilds. My industrial plater just leaves them in a spot with a lot of sunlight. Also, most cadmium plating i've seen is kind of ugly. almost powdery- even on the yellow stuff. not quite as "blingy". could just be the ASTM spec for the parts I've seen, but from what I've been exposed to- zinc plating looks nicer.
  15. thanks, here is the high res one if you're interested
  16. That's a price breakdown, $4,750 labor and $800 for supplies. You paid them $5,550 to paint your car, one payment. Very fair for installing new metal IMHO. Quit complaining to us please. Be a man and handle your business.
  17. Many members, including me, have found a fifty-fifty mix of acetone and auto. trans. fluid to be an excellent penetrating oil.
  18. I was cutting carrots tonight after you started this thread and my wife wouldn't let me take a pic of a bunch of carrot slices on a cutting board with half a hot dog... Took the camera from me.
