  1. Well she turned over but didn't start at first. Turned my laptop on and plugged in and saw that I wasn't showing rpm. So I took out my crank sensor and checked it, no damage. So I adjusted it closer and BOOM BABY, she fired off just like I remember. Let her idle for a while and so far no leaks. The motor sounded good and valve train was quiet. I definitely need to adjust my timing graphs, but that shouldn't be a big deal. Hope to get her on the road for a test drive as soon as I figure something out with exhaust.
  2. Looks like me when I went to Savannah 3 years ago. Silver Xterra pulling a gold Z! Good Luck Jim.....beautiful car!
  3. Ready to hit the road in the morning.
  4. i've always had a soft spot for vintage english coachwork ;}
  5. So far, this is the only pic I've taken. Been busy with work and school. I'll undress her later and take some pictures for you guys
  6. Actually you only need to stop the flow from the tank, so just one clamp. Read through this; http://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/fuel/g3filter/index.htm I'm sorry Jonathan, you're way is safer. I was typing while you posted. If you have a paint stir stick break off two pieces and put that in the jaws of your vise grips so it won't cut into the hose. If you could get a pieces of rubber hose over the jaws that would work too.
  7. you people frighten me. i'm just a simple carb-man... your ways are strange. why does this thread make me feel so completely dim and yet i'm so strangely attracted to it - like road kill: can't look away!! i have nothing of value to add here, other than wide-eyed awe at the thinking going on. i guess it's just the crazy creativity driven by a passion to problem-solve. love it!
  8. Took her out for her maiden voyage with new hitch, trailer and engine. Made it around the block, and out for a 120km drive tomorrow to my friends where the swap will happen this weekend. Wish me luck. This picture makes me all tingly inside.
