  1. Some confusion here it seems. You mean Chromated, surely? 'Chromite' - FeCr2O4 - is a mineral. I have an original (Japanese) document which clearly states that the substrate for most of the steel fasteners and other parts on 'our' cars in Zinc, and that this was quite often coated with an additional (Chromate) layer of passivate for protection, which gave it that characterisitic 'gold' finish.
  2. Here they are! Y'all better get these. Cyber Monday $306 each plus shipping which isn't bad at all, $63 for both from Connecticut to Alabama. I got them so close I don't think a playing card could slip between the bumper and body. Both sides pulled in perfect too. Rear is next but I'm going to paint the tow hooks and need to get some stainless carriage bolts to put the 3 pieces together. Not going to use the old rusted ones. Thank You Dave Patten @ futofab.com.
  3. We have now selection of NOS nuts and bolts directly imported from Japan. These are not cad-plated nor yellow zinc. All the hardware that originally came with 240Z cars were chromate-finish. The highest grade Chromate finished hardware is very hard to come even in Japan. So far we have: -Inspection lid clip screw set (Almost Impossible to find the original ones in US) -Strut tower nuts and lock washers -Rear hatch + screws with special locking washers -M6 bolt kit to cover most areas. -Luggage strap screws and storage lid screws -Door lach and dove tail screws and special locking washers If you have any other recommendation, we will import them directly from factories in Japan. Take a look at our hardware available today! http://jdm-car-parts.com/collections/hardware-parts-nissan-datsun-fairlady-z-240z-260z-280z-280zx
  4. yeah, a wheel on a grinder is the way to go - get some red and white polishing rouge (red for taking the surface smooth, white for the color/shine) and there'll have no end to the fun you'll have making things shiny! suddenly the ice cream scoop, that old belt buckle, the cheese slicer all become jewelry
  5. Chrome-mites are pests that destroy shiny bumpers.

  9. I'm not a good picture taker, so they said. Here's some a little farther back. I never opened the doors today. They had some packing smears but I quickly buffed 'em out with a microfiber towel and they look back at me, like a mirror. Very happy with my new bumpers.
