My first L28 leaked coolant from the head gasket seam at that back corner.

And that hose fitting will come right out with a big wrench. Normal thread direction, righty-tighty. Use some pipe dope/sealant on the threads when you reinstall it. Rectorseal 5 is good, you can get it at most hardware stores.

i really hope that’s not the case. I cleaned up the area after the new valve cover gasket and so far it seems dry to the bone 🤞

Id drain the tank if haven't. O'Reillys has the filter pretty cheap. Do the G3 pre filter. O'Reillys has their store brand, I think fram is no more?

Run the new clear pre filter and check it out. You may need a tank cleaning and coating, that's rusty looking. About as bad as a 240 I bought.

Those heater hose fittings are prone to rust especially if straight water is used. They are available new
