This is the heart of the mystery. A CHTS in an N47 head.

It's no mistery. A N47 with the sensor between 5 and 6 Spark plug is from the Maxima L24e. On a L28 it is a high compression head.

N47 Heads with extra CHTS sensor between Spark plugs 5 & 6 are L24 Maxima N47 heads with a "closed" 39cc combustion chamber.

No mystery to some of us.

This was all discussed earlier in the thread. I was just trying to lock it in as the reality.

It is difficult to keep track of the many possible variations. If the heads have been swapped maybe the pistons have been too. With these old cars a person really has to do some examining to figure out what they're really working with.

p.s. for example, if you swap in a 280ZX engine you also have to modify the exhaust system since the ZX manifolds are different, if you want to use the ZX manifolds. So many people just use the Z manifold on the ZX engines. At a quick glance it looks Z. But a closer look shows ZX.

Edit - except that I see that Signatures don't seem to work anymore. Mine is gone and so are others.

Something that might be helpful on these long build threads - update your signature with details as you discover them. 10 pages is too many to easily go back through to figure out the basics.

It's not under Profile it's under Account Settings.

Thats a good idea, the sigs show up if you toggle the option to see others. Once Im happy with the car running and driving. I plan on starting a new thread where I disassemble the car and clean up everything.

@Zed Head Can you see mine?

Can't see nuthin'! Maybe it's an Adblocker thing. It was too much magnification.

I figured it out. I have been using CTRL + to magnify the page since I have a big screen monitor. Turns out that windows just deletes some things when there's too much magnification. I unmagnified and the sigs came back.

Sorry for loading up your thread nowak1981.

Back to Z stuff...

Finally back from vacation, got some goodies before I left.

I picked up my now shiny fuel tank from the cleaners.

Shout out to Spikes radiator and repair in Denver, the owner was one of the few old timers still doing this kind of work.

Cost $475 since it was pretty nasty inside. He cut out three holes and sandblasted the interior/exterior of the tank, coated the interior and painted.

The insides looks good. Not perfect, but def better than it was. Beats 700$+ for a new one.

So now I need to fine a fuel sender for it. This is what I have. But according to zcar depot this may be the wrong sender for this tank? Their replacement show that this sending unit is for the top of the tank. The other sending unit they have doesnt have the second rod. Booo Maybe I can take this apart and clean it.

Submerge that sending unit in CLR for 24 - 48 hours. It will come out clean.
